After my Test drive and the dealer wash/fuel I left the lot with 4 miles.

 

Hmmm... I'm getting all paranoid now. My dealer told me that as soon as it came off the truck they parked it and kept it in the front in a covered section of the building, because I already had money on it, and nobody was allowed to drive it or sit in it. With that being said, the truck was not washed nor filled up, and I was a little shocked to see 10 miles on the odometer when I arrived at the dealer. Hopefully it wasn't molested by some prick.

 

IDK...Kind of like getting hung up on who your wife may have dated or slept with before she finally met you and decided you were the one.
It got driven off the assembly line. It got driven onto a rail car. It got unloaded at the port. It may have been moved around the port a couple times. It got loaded onto final transport. It got unloaded at the dealer. Someone pulled it into the shop for PDS. Someone pulled it out of there to park it. A sales guy or two sweet talked the floor manager for the keys so they could give it a spin. Technically, deposit or not, until you had signed ALL the papers, it wasn't yours.

 

How would you drive it...that is probably your answer!

 

Makes me wonder if they deliver them by truck to the San Antonio dealers or drive them? Seems to me it would be cheaper to drive the 30 miles one way. A lot boy making $15 per hour could deliver 5-6 trucks per day. IIRC my truck had about 45 miles on it when I test drove it. I bought it off the lot and they did not have many left so my guess is either it was driven there from the factory or it was taken on 3-4 test drives before I arrived. I usually test drive 10-12 miles. Did not bother me one bit and I am pretty anal.

 

Call me crazy, but I had my buddy call from a blocked number, ask if he could come check it out and take it on test drive, and they said they wouldn't even let him sit in it, because it was already sold.

Should I seek medical help?

 

For liability, I'm sure they use a carrier to get it from factory to dealer regardless of distance. I also doubt they go straight to the dealer. Even there, the "port installed" options are going to be done at a different facility than the actual build factory. The factory is made to do one thing - turn out trucks to a limited set of base configurations. That is the Toyota efficiency. Then the port facility is where they do the specific add-ons that were ordered with the truck. From that distribution center, they then get shipped to dealers.

No. But I wouldn't lose sleep over who's ass might have touched that seat before yours did. I'd worry more about someone else's ass touching that seat now that it's yours.

 

I would actually ask for a used vehicle. When it comes to "special" vehicles, I treat them the way I would want someone else to treat my future "special" vehicle. I'm willing to bet that I'm probably a dying breed.

 

I have to tell you guys... this Lunar Rock Club is pretty cool. It's like a therapy session for those of us who do not want to see a professional.

I just love the way the truck drives now with the 5.29s and Powertrax, it moves.

 

This thread makes me think about how much I regretted not getting a VW R32, a few years after I bought my MKIV GTI, in my 20’s. How much am I going to regret not trading in my ‘18 and getting a LR Pro? If it weren’t for all the mods I’ve already done and the creature comforts of my Platinum, I think I would have done it by now. I’d also likely be divorced.

I like my BBS too but just don't want to use spacers. I have brand new ones i'll be selling this week. I even paid $100 extra to get them made quicker so I wouldn't have to wait a month.

First scratches...


Also got two small paint chips in the rear drivers side bumper and several more scratches right at the top edge of the tailgate today.

Using my TRUCK to do TRUCK THINGS - haul stuff to the dump, haul compost/dirt, drive down muddy dirt roads...
