Going to Toyota dealership in 5 hours, hit me with some advice

    And one thing that is not intuitively obvious, the reliability of the Tundra translates into the lowest cost to own of any 1/2T truck out there, even with the MPG's. And for me, maintenance issues cost a lot more than money; they cost TIME, which is a much bigger issue for me since I'm still under warranty.

    I think your assumption about the amounts you would be paying are increasingly less still applies in a low inflation low interest rate environment...AS LONG AS you are getting raises in your income. You need that in either scenario.

    And one thing about driving an older car...it can be liberating when it gets to the point that you don't care about door dings, parking in tight places, washing it, etc. When my Accords were getting older, as long as they were dependable, the AC worked and the seats did not get my clothes dirty...good to go. Jam it in that parking place...fresh tar who cares...a bit of hail...give me that insurance check for new golf clubs...etc.
