They are referred to as bucket spacers. Lots of bracket lifts use them

I may be wrong but I’m fairly certain it’s because of your stock UCAs. I called Bilstein a while ago to find out why they reco only 1” lift on our trucks with both 5100s and 6112s. They said it’s because of our UCAs which result in the spindle hitting the coils at full extension if we lift more than 1”. Said raising more than 1” wouldn’t be an issue with Uniball UCAs.

Its on jackstands with the wheels off. When you do that with yours how far down is the top of spindle from the top of the coil?

I haven't driven it with the new springs and shocks because of the issue we're discussing. So this has just occurred on jack stands. I don't do any sweet jumps so it shouldn't be an issue except when raising the car for maintenance.

If I get it back together appropriately, I don't really have any confidence it won't happen to the alignment guy once I get over there and they raise it up.

Which is why I was asking about spring clocking or other ideas.

I haven't separated the upper ball joint because the big hammer wasn't able to and I haven't been able to go get a ball joint separator.

I don't understand why the spindle is now popping over there and only on the driver side.

OK but I think every thing is stock height (5100 on lowest setting) and this is the first time I've put it back together. The prior shocks/springs didn't make this happen. The bracket lift is designed to run all stock height gear. But new UCAs could be the solution. I wonder why the passenger side worked ok if they are though.

I'm no expert on bracket lifts, but thought they were designed to use stock UCA's. I'm guessing something is off on the driver's side, but I have no idea what.

This toyota one should fit right? It says any exhaust 2.75-3.125" it would work?

I did a couple of easy things today. Truck didn't fight back at all. Chalk it up as a happy day in the garage.
Decided to install a set of 1.25" spacers (hubcentric). Was getting slight tire rub on the chassis at full steer (running 33s with 2.5" of lift).
Went with these, no particular reason: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LV2F2VL?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
    [IMG]2021-04-23_06-39-17 by GhostCreekMine, on Flickr

I greased the male and female sides of the hubcentric flanges on both sides of the spacers to deter any stuck parts in the future.
    [IMG]2021-04-23_06-40-05 by GhostCreekMine, on Flickr

Set came with two bottles of thread locker for the spacer's stud-nuts. I locked em on and put everything back together at 83 ft lbs.
    [IMG]2021-04-23_06-40-40 by GhostCreekMine, on Flickr

    Done, easy as it gets.
    [IMG]2021-04-23_06-40-24 by GhostCreekMine, on Flickr

Next project was flush mount LEDs for a reverse-light upgrade because I like what @SouthPaw did on his beautiful stormtrooper Tundra.
Went with these cuz the reviews are good and they are inexpensive: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S7CK2DT?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

Picked up a couple of bottles of 303 Aerospace Protectant in the 16 oz bottle for $8/each at www.napaonline.com. Must have been a pricing mistake; normally it’s $15/each in the store.

I don’t think clocking the coils is the answer, it would still make heavy contact, and that just ain’t right. Im guessin the LCA’s haven’t been torqued with truck weight on em since you haven’t had the chance to set it down yet. I’d try gettin the lower arms up closer to a reasonable ride height, then torquing them down, then give it another go. I’d imagine your brand new LCA bushings would help it from drooping so far. And if that didn’t solve it, I’d be lookin at limit straps. Actually surprised the kit didn’t come with em.

So I moved my non running 92 SHO to my new house today. What I was a dumbass about is I didn't leave it in neutral when I disconnected the shift linkage and pulled out the rod shifter. So the car was in first and I'm in a TIGHT alley. I manged to hook on and pull it to get it straight down the alley.

    KIMG0025.jpg

I wasn't able to get more pics, but it ended with the SHO losing, and Ironman winning. The good thing is that the plugs are pulled on the SHO so it went "whoop" "whoop" "whoop" all the way home. I had to push it into the drive so I hurt the rear bumper, tail light, and trunk, but it's a parts car so all good.

    Now to the bad part.

I refilled my trans and PS before I got home, like a mile away. During this expedition I had to refill my PS as it was groaning again. Lik it was puking fluid every time I turned the wheel.. you can literally follow where I've been. And my trans was only 4 qts low so well within specs....

I have a new rack sitting in wait for my lazy ass so that's all good, but I also saw this:

    KIMG0026.jpg

No clue if this is new or old. It will be delt with, eventually.

Today I replaced 2 seat bolts I managed to lose during a carpet rehab. I’m sure they will show up but I wasn’t waiting. Also in the mail was the release for the main door on the center console. I tried to buy the spring only, but it comes as part of the latch. Whatever, 16-18 bucks delivered for all and 3 min install.

also called King and asked about my shocks. First guy said 2 week turnaround, who did you talk to? I’m not looking at my invoice so he checked. Talked to my guy and said call Monday and we will do our best to rush it. Monday, 0800 it is.... I want them Monday or Tuesday.....

When I ran wheel spacers I put viz torque on the wheel studs. That way you only have to pull the wheel to see if the nuts have moved. Just a thought. I did the same style backup light too. Mine stopped working, but that's another story, I suppose.

Sounds like the issue started with the 5100's.
Nice mods sir. Do the tires rub more at the pinch weld area now?

Pinch weld? Not sure what you mean. Hopefully they don't rub at all anymore. Prior to the spacers I was getting a slight tire rub on chassis... only at full steer going slow. I'll be surprised if they rub on anything now.

The wheel spacers push the tires away from the hub which will add clearance to the frame. But now when you turn the wheels, they will extend further towards the pinch weld area (drivers foot well / wheel well area). Just curious if they rub there now like mine did.

about 2/3 to 3/4 the edge of the tire tread gets really close to the wheel well area about where the mud flap is bolted on. Lifted the front 2" and trimmed the flap at that spot and it no longer rubs. I'm only running 265/75/16. 285's would rub for sure.
