I will let you know when I get them on. I have done a lot of research on this size. I’m also in touch with another forum member with his white Pro and he stuck the same size on with no issues rubbing. And he said it did not change the ride quality at all. I had 285’s on my 4runner Pro and they do ride good. I’m also getting a great deal from my tire guy who I deal with all the time. He’s buying my Michelin’s from me so I don’t need to put much out.

I kinda like the method 316 (not set in stone) just think they will be easy to clean...???

But my current plan is to keep the stock wheel and put on 285/70's for the summer driving . Then in the fall swap out the new 285's with something more winter / mud for winter driving, off road and hunting season. Then by spring have the new wheels and summer tires back on. So, swap out rims/tires in the spring and fall.

Easy said... now I just to convince the other half

I am really happy with the Falkens in 295/70R18. The 3PMS rating was important to me. I've only had to pull the front mud flaps.

Good to know they fit. How would you rate the Falkens on road noise? (1 -10, with 1 being quiet and 10 loud )

Maybe 2-3? They aren't any more noticeable to me than the factory tires - the exhaust makes more noise than the tires. Compared to GY Wrangler Duratracs and BFG KO2s that I've had on my old truck, these are MUCH quieter and have done better in a range of conditions from ice to snow to wet pavement.

Tire size is actually 275/65/18. I don’t seen any reason why 285’s would not fit. Currently running Nitto Grapplers 35” on Jeep JK Rubicon. Great compromise on and offroad.

Thank you for the rating... I now hear what your saying about the exhaust...and i like that sound. I have run the Duratracs, good tire but get very loud.

So, I've been researching tire weights, and I'm not sure how many people know that, but the OEM tire is "only" 40lbs, while most of the tires people are putting on are between 60-70lbs. That's almost double the weight.

So my truck is still about 40 days out. I was looking to sell my 2016 tundra outright but if I trade it I get the tax credit. Dealership gave me a good trade in price but i cant trade it in till the truck is on the lot.Just worried if the used car market chances when the truck comes in they will change the price on my trade.Has anyone received a trade in price before the new truck arrived?

See if they can get you something in writing, guaranteeing trade-in value, until your new truck arrives. They probably won't do it, but doesn't hurt to ask.

Doubt you’ll have any issues given supply shortages. If anything you might see it go up. Make sure you negotiate or remove any accessories you want to move over to the new truck. I had nice AT tires with less than 10k miles that I didn’t negotiate swapping to the new truck (though in hindsight I’m glad I didn’t and ended up with the ones I have instead). My truck was already in transit, so the dealership gave me the trade value (and we signed papers on it) but then “loaned” it back to me to drive until the new one arrived. It all depends on how they run the paperwork and what they are allowed and willing to do.

 I'm used to light cars, where wheel/tire combo weighs 40lbs, so to me, a 70lbs tire is insane. :):ballchain: :)

Updated delivery time of 26-28th. It’s happening!!!

As far as trade in I’ve got a bottom line price they’ve committed to (which means also the most they’ll give me). But I have 3 other written offers just to keep it honest and make sure they don’t cheat me. Remember - they need the car more than you. If they low ball you take the truck and the trade in and leave. You are in control!!!

Car tires are typically lighter than truck tires.

    Mass = Volume x density
The density of the rubber doesn’t change, but the volume of rubber needed for 34+” tires is a LOT more than those on most cars. Unless this is your kind of car...

Have you thought about selling outright? I seen 2 at the same dealer sell for $62k and $65K last week. 38,0000 miles and 46,000 miles.

Ended up ordering the Method 317's in Matte although the new Titanium looks nice like a dark gunmetal.

The UV protection is $50 more when you add it to either one. I was quoted $650 for the premium without UV and $750 with UV protection for the next version up with UV.

The standard without UV is $599. The dealer near me has been waiting over a month to receive the standard materials.

I’m getting it done next week and have to pick one as well.
