Trying to keep awake. What a hard life

 

I've been thinking for quite a while that my Stella had gone deaf, so last week when she was in for dental work I asked the Vet to check her hearing. They confirmed that she cannot hear; said she might still hear some sounds, but it'd be easier to just operate on the assumption that she is completely deaf.

Of course, she doesn't care. Still happy every day, cuz that's how dogs are. I just have to give her more physical attention since she can't hear me telling her how much I love her.

my next door neighbor has a white french bullie dog and Charlie is deaf. Apparently the white ones have a 25% chance of being deaf.
He walks Charlie off leash with a lazer pointer. If he doesn't hear him, just a little tickle of the lazer grabs his attn.
Its something to see a dog not going batshit crazy chasing it

 

Oh, she's all good. At over 11 years old she's pretty set in her ways. She walks well on the leash as I trained her with voice and touch commands. I've never let her go off leash because, even when she could hear, she didn't have any fear of things she should. Lawnmower, 18 wheeler, etc. She would run up to any vehicle, because vehicles mean people, and she loves people.

 

Love all the pup picks, puts a smile on my face every time I look at this goofy thread. Thank you to all who share there furry bundle of love and silliness.

I was working last night and my night was made when a patient came in with a very large dog, like a horse even. He was the sweetest pup and I loved being able to take a break from the stressful work load to pet him and to give him a warm blanket to sleep on!
