What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Installed my spyder tail lights. Love how they look! Hated the bright red factory.

 

Yesterday filled my wiper fluid after my light came on, a whole gallon didn't top it off. I really need to do an engine bay cleaning...


Also ever since I put my LCA skids back on I thought I've noticed a slight rubbing still. Took a look and at full lock the tire rubs on the backsides of them (this pic is drivers side wheel turned full lock drivers side). Think I'm just going to get spacers, I've been wanting them anyway. These skids have been a pain since day 1...



Today I missed my 60k landmark, noticed it after I parked.

Just finished (in the dark via headlamp) two mods that have been in boxes for a while: wireless charger tray and rear USB plugs using the awesome trim plate by @Chelly.

Pretty straight forward except getting the plug from the truck to seat correctly into the harness for the charger. Looked like a blade inside was a little off so had to move it around a bit with a small flathead screwdriver. These were the first mods where I actually had to take something apart and put it back together.

 

I’m still trying to decide on that wireless charger...

 

Definitely a nice to have not a must have. I decided to take the plunge because I already was putting my phone in that console tray from day one and I hate using a cord.

 

Add wireless CarPlay if you haven’t yet (unless you’ve got android).

I’ve been thinking about it. I’ll probably wait to see how much I end up using Waze and Apple Music for road trips this summer. I’m mostly work from home still so other than running the kids back and forth to school the truck is sitting in the driveway. Just been using the free XM radio service or FM for now.

 

I use the crap out of maps and spotify on mine. But i just turned 10K since November.

 

Aluma Boss lift now in with wheels and tires, loving this Tunka Truck!

 

Installed color matched mirror covers.

 

Put in new 3D Maxpider floor mats in the back and black fill letters in the tailgate.

Just ordered a AirLift WirelessOneEZ compressor, black out badges and black OEM tailpipe cover.

Nice. How do you like that Proholder phone mount? I've been debating on one.

 

@Dsptundra how did you connect/wire the USB plug? I have been debating this mod for a while now. Did you buy the USB plug from sparks or Amazon? I not a fan of doing electrical work b/c I do not want to short anything out or run my battery dead.

 

I like it, but I don’t really use it as designed. It fits my phone well enough without having to open/close it. I just snap it in there and it holds. My old iPhone doesn’t have wireless charging, so I charge with a cord. If you pull your dash apart a lot like me, the top left tab will get loose; a small piece of double sided gorilla tape holds it in place fine. Be careful not to bend the tabs on the back when installing. I like the location; easy to see but not obstructing my view.

 

I purchased this unit from Sparks https://www.sparksparts.com/p-smart-usb-dual-charger-0001600325 and followed the directions for the rear install. It was easy to cut back the black insulation tape and use the included wire taps for power. Installing the rear USB was much easier and less time consuming than the wireless charger portion of the install.

Also, this circuit is off when the truck is off so you can install without disconnecting the battery.

 

Nice where did you buy them? Also I assume they plug into factory harness.

FYI here in the Houston, TX area it was like 45.00 to cut and program at ACE Hardware (local hardware stores).
