I want to do a lumber rack and RTT in the distant future. My dad got a lumber rack installed to fit with his Tacoma's SnugTop for like $600.

there’s a bit of wait time but not as bad as a few others I’ve seen. Ordered one in Dec/Jan and it’s supposed to get here in June.

Damn...put some mirror tiles up next to those string/tape lights and you've got Porno Camper Supreme, given the right sound track.

Don't let a kid out smart you.
Heres the link to the Thule rack I use - https://www.thule.com/en-us/roof-ra...car=toyota-tundra-4dr-access+cab-_-LxAAkjq4Fa. I picked it because I carry bikes using a tailgate pad a lot and I wanted to make sure I had room to fit them but I also wanted something low so it wouldn't tank my mileage. As for install I recommend getting some little metal plates since the clamping things don't have pads in the bottom and they ended up denting my bed so definitely a good idea to get some.
They offer some non adjustable ones as well - https://www.thule.com/en-us/roof-rack/truck-and-van-racks
If you are using a Tepui, you are going to need longer bolts the stock 55mm are too short. I used 70 mm with the nuts and plates that came with it. But you may want to make/ find some bigger ones since it barley fits.

Here are a few pics of my 2000 Tundra. I’ve had it a long time. Last 6 or so it’s turned into my camping only rig. Hot shower yes they are awesome even on weekend trips. Can double for a hot tub when you have a kiddie pool.

I like it! I actually don't even dislike the front bumper and I'm picky about that one. Very nice truck or as grandpa would say very nice "outfit" you have their. Welcome aboard.

I love the mudflaps. When I had a super duty I really contemplated getting the wyoming mudflaps because for a while it seemed weird to not see them on a ford diesel. I think your mudflaps fit the vehicle perfectly.

Had Alcan make springs for the rear. Had airbags for years. Finally spent the money on springs. Huge difference.

Curious on the difference. I just installed Air Bags along with Daystar Cradles Icon add-a-leafs and bilstein 5100’s. I drive about 40k a year for work so I’m either fully unloaded, or full of camp gear.

So far far I have been really happy with the versatility of the bags.

Fully loaded with gear / booze I’m about 1500lbs in the rear. It all adds up.

Air bags were great when it was a work truck and camp rig. Once camp only happened more weight happened and it had to much Cadillac in the back. I’ve got a couple 5.7 tundras for work now which have air bags. So this camping rig has all the weight all the time. Without weight I’m sure it would ride terribly.

National Luna. It’s been in 7-8 years. On third set of batteries at this point. No complaints. Truck sits pretty much all winter. Then used weekends and a couple long trips in the summer. Living out of the truck tomorrow for a month. Have a cascade solar panel on order. Unfortunately it’s not in before this trip.

There are some real nice setups on this thread. I myself run a Softopper with a cot on my 06. Cot fits over the wheel wells and plenty of room for storage. When the wife and kid come I just pitch a tent.

best part about the topper is that it’s so versatile, easy to get into from any point and comes off/on in 2 minutes. I do fantasize about an ultralight slide in one day but this works for weekend fishing trips for now.

I can't remember what thread I was talking about it in so I will just post it here. I used my rack to to take the shell off. I have a little boat lift crank on the wall to lift it. I can have the shell on in under ten minutes. Taking it off is several minutes less.
