I’m not sure what you mean by valance. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet as I can’t afford to right now as I’m moving and buying a new house, but I’m going to start saving!

It’s that piece between the bumper and the grille. 2nd gen bumpers usually either require you to remove it, or the bumper keeps it and hangs lower.

It would just be speculation for me, but their hybrid bumper keeps the valance so I would assume the overland will as well

I'll start by saying I'm pretty overwhelmed by all of the information on this site.

    I have a 2007 DC with a Fisher7 1/2 plow.

I'd like to replace the front bumper with something more sturdy / no chrome / etc.

Any recommendations on what would work?

A couple of options would help...

I would need to have it installed, I think, as it is probably outside of my skill level.

OEM bumper has some light rust on the chrome, and has taken a hit or two just plowing my own driveway.

Would prefer to keep the valance, etc, and hope to get something with what I guess I'd call a pretty direct install, ie no cutting, etc.

Want something pretty beefy and strong.

    Is this possible?

Here's a pic of my truck...sorry for the newbie type questions and appreciate the help / opinions / feedback.

Just thought I’d update as it’s been a year with my DV8 bumper.
Fitment took a lot of time to get right. It was always tilted to one side. Had to have help to hold it straight as I bolted it on to fix it.
The powder coating is more like tinfoil. I’ve gone thru and probably resprayed half the bumper with rustoleum by now, but I wish I would’ve had it bedlined. Just something to consider. For the price, it’s hard to beat. Just remember to include $200 or so to get it sprayed.
But biggest of all. Buy your own hardware. The included hardware rusts super easily.

Some jackass backed into my truck (2011 Tundra RW) in a parking lot and now I’m looking at new front bumpers. Style-wise, I like the NFAB M-RDS and the Addictive Desert Designs Venom. Like how the NFAB doesn’t stick out as much as ADD, but concerned about the NFAB products rusting (I live in New England - so rust is a big concern and I’ve already had NFAB nerf bars rust off). Anyone have any pics of the ADD bumper or experience with it? It’s a lot of $$$ so trying to make sure it’s the right one. Thanks!

From my experience all of these manufacturers are from states that don't see winter salt conditions. I'm from Wisconsin and I just installed a Victory 4x4 front bumper on my 2012 Tundra. Pics are a couple pages ahead. Reasons I chose them are, one: I liked the looks and two: I could order in bare steel.
If you can order in bare steel you can have a local powder coater sandblast, prime and powder coat them properly to hold up to salt conditions. Also I went with a product called Poly Armor, similar to powder coat but thicker and if chipped or gouged you can heat it up and it will heal itself (blend). Being thicker it also fills in welds and cracks really nice. Negatives are that it is in limited colors and only comes glossy. But it holds up to these Wisconsin winters.
    Good luck.

Hate to talk about this gents, I bought a victory 4x4 front bumper cuz I thought they looked the best, had the lowest profile, and a winch plate.

Problem I’ve had is every time I’ve had to use the winch or been pulled out of something, it has bent the bumper out by about an inch. I drive an rcsb with not that much in extra weight. So it’s very disappointing to me that it would bend so easily. Every time it’s happened I’ve just bent it back in place by nudging a tree with the recovery point. It goes back in place but it’s very disheartening and makes me not want to hook to it for fear of mangling it. Victory 4x4 has been no stranger to controversy on this site but I gave them the benefit of the doubt cuz the bumper looked so good. I’ll probably be looking for another bumper at some point.

I think the main failure of the bumper is that the recovery points are so high. Causes the bumper to bend downward and out under any weight. Food for thought.

    Recovery points being the hoop?

Recovery points meaning the d ring loop. See how much higher up they are on this bumper compared to where the actual bumper mount is?

    4525DE36-43D9-41F2-8D3F-343EA0A8144E.jpg

I think the problem is they are attached to the plate exoskeleton of the bumper and not anything structurally sound.

Now if someone wants a lightly used victory 4x4 bumper on the east coast, I’ll give it up for 1k lol… but for real I’m in NC if anyone is interested.

Well that sucks. I put my stock tow hooks back on with my Victory 4x4 bumper, never considered the recovery hoops.

I went with a iron cross hd. Turned out alright, did run into some problems with the winch control box not fitting correctly.

So I want to buy the RESZ bumper but I don't know WTF that thing is poking out at the bottom. I emailed RESZ and they said it's the frame horns (bumper mounting points). Shouldn't that part be covered too? I would imagine you'd want that getting bashed up.

    WTF is that.jpg

I did the same thing. But to be honest I don't have or run a winch but if those upper recovery points are not tied into the structure that bolts to the frame they wouldn't get used by me. Possibly a guy could remove the bumper and add plates to tie them into the frame???

Agreed. It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a way to add a plate, but I think that’d also mean you’d need to strip the powder coat off to weld on the plate, reapply it, etc. But I’m not an expert fabrication guy so that’s above my pay grade.

They are tied to the structure but it’s just not as stout as it should be. I’m sure I could do something about it, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to paying 1800$ for a bumper.

so I have the reszfab bumper. I did a group buy and install thread.

I love the looks of the bumper but if you read the thread there were many headaches with reszfab themselves as a company (never applied the group discount Or gave us a credit as promised). No return calls or emails once our money was paid.

then the bumper itself. Holes were no where near aligned and the tabs the hold the s2 fog lights were out of whack. Mods needed to be done on every bumper that came out of the group buy.

not sure if they fixed these issues yet. Just a heads up

Thanks for that info brother, good to know!! I might go with the C4 option...I don't know yet. Don't really feel like spending 3k on a front bumper. The hunt continues

I want to add my winch to my existing bumper where that black plastic rectangle is behind the license plate is. I saw a Ford truck with that setup and it would be perfect. Has anyone seen anything like this??
I have used the receiver to put my winch on but it sticks out pretty far.

    Thanks!
