What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Finished up my under cab courtesy lights and finally had a minute to install my Pop n Lock.

PL8547HD is the new style.
It’s definitely different from the old style that I had on my ‘13.
Heavier, closed in body, different style locking mechanism, heavy duty wire loom, separate connector for tailgate (easier), correct wiring and it’s much quieter.

 

Loader ‘er up and made a trip to the landfill.

 

Decided since I recently changed my side vinyl stickers and painted my brake calipers, along with front shackles to match, I needed to redo my engine cover plus the front tundra badge. Finished it off today with a new license for the front bumper. That’s about it for awhile. Taking her to the RV dealer to pick up new trailer on Friday.

 

Sweet! I was about to paint my engine cover like this! Seen so many with red but I like the blue. My paint just arrived today haha

 

I installed my half console safe, cut up my old console organizer and installed the rough country speedometer calibration thingy. I got it within 1-2 mph, I am sure I could fine tune it more but I am not going crazy with it

 

Installed this rear seat dual outlet thingamajig I got from @Chelly. The dual usb is from sparks. Fit is perfect.

 

I found using pin striping tape is more forgiving around corners then painters tape. Good luck and post a pic when you’re done!

 

Looks great! I have my part from @Chelly just waiting for FedEx to deliver my Sparks order so I can get this and the wireless charger installed.

 

Pretty happy right now just finished installing my driver's side grab handle, man that was easy.

Added AJT blackout kit for the console.

Also Plastidipped the chrome piece on the bottom of the shift knob and shrink wrapped the chrome shift lever.

Still need to do the climate control knob surrounds. Will do when I install my FRAC harness for the front camera. Polished chrome has got to go!

Very happy with it. So much better for me than the tri fold it came with.

 

ME TOOOO!!!!! I wish I had known they were available in black when I got my ArmorFlex - I would have that DiamondBack on my truck right now!

 

I have a Leer cover on my 2008 and thought I would enjoy having the tri-fold on the 2020 to put taller items in the bed and being able to open it when it snows. Wish I would have spent the extra money and gone with the DiamondBack even though it has its limits (on the tall stuff).

 

It’s pretty amazing, especially when I consider I was getting ~20 mpg with my 2016 Tacoma! Tundra is a GREAT truck!!!

Have some ghosting since I think it was parked outside under a tree by the previous owner. Any recommendations besides clay and wax?

 

I would say start light like clay. If not a light polish may work

My FIL was in the Air Force during Vietnam

 

The boy and I tested out the new setup this weekend. So far so good!

 

Try some clay, but most likely you’ll need some rubbing compound and or some polish. I used both on my old Tacoma and it took all of the ghosting out. I just used the cheap turtle wax.
