What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

What did you use for the breather mod? Looks different from the threaded union with a hose clamp.

Today I got my extra set of TRD Offroad wheels cleaned up and posted for sale in 3rd gen marketplace/wheels and tires if anyone is interested. Still have mine on truck and decided against having these powdercoated dark bronze.

 

Finally got around to installing the sparks parts wireless charger in the console lid. Took about 30 minutes tops.

I will say, I’ve owned a Silverado, F150, and now a Tundra and they are extremely intuitive. Working on them “just makes sense”. The molded pillars in the lid hatch to help with alignment, the support bracket to hold the bolt in and keep it from falling when changing out the door handle covers, etc. very smart engineering throughout it seems.

It's just the toyota letters. I'm going to try and sell locally first to avoid having to ship.

 

SDHQ billet ABS guards installed and also found a way to mount my XBull traction boards!

 

Finally installed and all hooked up. I'll probably try a different filament (this is just clamped in by the stock piece) to get a smoother finish that I can paint better. I tried painting another one of these and didn't like it, so I went with this one. Functions well and looks pretty good.

How did you plastidip the steering wheel emblem? Tape and spray or did you remove the airbag and emblem for painting. Looks great.

I'll share the stl and raw file tomorrow at work, that will allow people to mod the holes as needed. Plus, they can change the lettering to whatever they want as well. Like someone said before, shapeways will do prints or people you know might have a printer.

I installed a Diamondback HD today.

 

Thanks! I had the airbag assembly out so I could do the control surround pieces. I looked into trying to remove just the emblem, but it wasn't worth the hassle to me. Since I was using plastidip I just taped and painted.

 

Spent 9hrs and did iron remover, clay, compound, polish, and wax. What a day. But man does she look good

 

I'll post it all and if you want me to tweak anything, just ask. Also, if you know what plugs you want to use and know the diameter, I can plug that in too.

 

Man I hate reading this. Sounds like my weekend. 478 miles on brand new 21 DC and a hail storm absolutely destroyed it.

Black has to be the prettiest color for the roughly 30 seconds after you work all day on it! Then the dust ruins everything.

Seriously, awesome work, I took care of a guys BMW 750il and Black Bronco growing up, both were black. What you did there is a lot of work. Major props.

 

thanks you man, I got quoted $600. I paid about $250 for all the supplies. I understand now why they charge so much. But I’m happy I did it. It’s rewarding, but your right tomorrow it will be showing everything haha. Oh well!

 

Looks great. I would have thought you removed the emblem for plastidip based upon the result. Maybe I will get bold enough to try the tape and spray route. I really hate to mess with the airbag even though it is easy based upon the write-ups I have seen.

More progress on the BSM install... building the harness from the bumper to the engine bay, but ran out of loom and electrical tape so will have to continue tomorrow.

 

Audiofrogs installed using stock JBL amp until PAC is available. Pretty impressive speakers! Cannot wait for the amp and sub upgrades!

 

Keeping stock HU I presume? The more miles I put on this, the more I think strongly about upgrading the audio.

 

Yeah, unfortunately PAC was a victim of a fire overseas so the new ones for the Tundra are kind of scarce. I put sound matting in the doors and the rear wall prior to getting the speakers. The ‘Frogs really made a surprising difference even on stock power.

Hahaha...still am, all the way...and yea my mini me loves to just show his face real quick, I keep trying to get him to help me with some of the installs but he loses interest real quick and it’s back to the yard to play baseball/basketball...and the pup is usually always outside with me!...just haven’t caught him in frame much lately...haha
