Hey Guys and Gals, I wanted to post up a problem and solution I encountered after installing a 4.5 BDS kit on my 2020 4x4 Crewmax. I noticed after the kit was installed that there was a chirping and/or dragging sound coming from the front tires when the steering was at full lock. Kinda like when driving on dry pavement in 4WD. I did some searching and found some similar post about this and realized I needed to talk to David @Coachbuilder1 - Turns out this is a common issue with this (and other) bracket lifts on our trucks and David had just the right solution. That chirping / dragging sound was exactly that, with the tie rods provided by BDS there was not enough travel when at full lock so the outside tire was not at the same turn angle as the inner tire causing the outer tire to drag. The Coach Builder Steering Kit which is essentially a beefier outer tie rod that provides more travel at the joint solved the problem. Thanks again David for taking my call and solving my problem.

Nice! Let us know if you get the same results. I have about 6K miles on them now and still working as expected. Still get a little chirp on a fully locked turn but its a night and day difference from what it was.

I have the same issue, you think I could install these on my own? Not trying to spend 400 dollars on labor for something so little

You can easily install them on your own. I did. You'll need an alignment afterwards, though.

Have you found a youtube video maybe of someone installing them?

This is a good enough one:

You'll get instructions as well with the coachbuilder kit. Definitely read through it.

It's a very beefy tie rod end. And it definitely helped my turning radius and tire wear. Got a better alignment afterwards, too. I still have some chirp when full-cut on certain asphalt, but it's not as bad. Have fun!
