Chrome Delete Covers for Tundra Bumpers - BumperShellz

We're getting through them! We're using these first orders for process training for our guys, so it's going a little slower, but parts are looking great! I think We'll have all orders from the initial 3 colors out by early next week.

 

Got our paint samples today! Left-Right (MGM, Silver Sky, Attitude (midnight) black, Sunset Bronze). Should be running these samples tomorrow to do a color match check and then we'll start taking orders on Monday if everything looks good!

 

It's going to be hard to color match any color besides black. There are so many variants to 1 color. Only way to ever get a good match good is have a paintshop match there color chips with the actual vehicle. I wouldn't worry so much about color matching as it may match what you have but probably not going match others. As long as it's in the ball park I think you should be golden.

 

Awesome News. Put me down for Attitude Black for Front set and Rear set as well as the Hood Bulge and Surround Set.

I don’t think you looked at the correct item. You want to look up the OEM color match if you’re wanting the factory colors. The others are just standard colors offered.

 

Wow. You're right. $400 for both sides of the front bumper ends.

 

It’s even worse if you need to replace the backs as well. Quote from dealer before getting my shellz...

How do you guys think this combo would look? I just got a brand new Super White Tundra last month and looking to get rid of the chrome. I definitely want the white surround and bulge but can’t decide on the bumper caps. Right now I’m leaning towards the TPO front and back to match the center parts of the bumper.

 

Any idea if/when MGM bumper caps will be back in stock?

Also anybody have pics of an MGM grille surround with the TPO bumper caps?

 

The other option would be white bumper caps. My question is, is it a good color match to the Toyota Super White 040? The site has the color listed as “TOYOTA SUPER WHITE ll”
In the past wasn’t the color listed as gloss white? Did something change @EC1 ?

 

I think the black bumper caps would look great, especially with black rims and white grille surround. Go for the stormtrooper edition look.

 

Thats kind of the look I’m going for. Just don’t want to regret not going with white lol. I recently added the black out emblem overlays, TRD center caps, and textured black nfab steps.

 

I’m impulsive. Ordered TPO front and rear, will try to remember to post pics once they’re installed.

Nice truck! I personally would complete the main part of the truck with white over any chrome. You’ll have the smaller black accents that will stand out. But you gotta do your truck with what you’re feeling.

Here you go, I have the front and back bumper caps on my 2020 Crewmax. Its not an exact match but as pretty dang close as you can get without donating a kidney for what Toyota parts wants for them. Its cloudy in these pics and my truck is not sparkling clean, but you get the gist. The color match is close enough that I definitely am going to order the hood bulge and grill surround when it comes out.....

 

Agreed. I have them in White also and would definitely buy again.

 

Next day or two the bulk should be out so stick with me lol. All should be shipped by Friday!

 

No tracking on this end either. Will complete the blackout on a 2018 SR5 DC with MGM paint once installed. Patience is a virtue I’ve always heard…

 

Paint Update!!!

A couple of big developments!
#1: We formed and checked the color match on the test plastic we got in with the pre-laminated paint film (pictured below). The color match is great! I was even happy with the metal flake consistency which is typically really hard to match. The result of this is that we are going to place a large order for the Silver Sky, MGM, Attitude (midnight) black. We might also order some of the Sunset bronze (pictured), and Barcelona red (not pictured) if the interest is high enough in either of those.

- I'll set a group-buy date for these, probably next week after we've gotten out all the current grille orders. We will initially receive a small number of painted sheet (about 20 sheets of each of the 3 colors mentioned above) in about 3 weeks, and those will go to the people who have been on our waitlist the longest followed by a large amount of sheet 5 weeks later which should help us cover all other orders in the Group Buy, and anyone on the waitlist who orders plus some for future orders.

#2: OUR PAINT BOOTH PERMIT HAS BEEN APPROVED! 8 months after beginning the permitting process lol. With that, we can finally set a date to have the ventilation finished and then have a hard start date for painting. It should follow the approximate time-line of the paint-film sheet mentioned above when we get the bulk plastic in. So that would be about 2 months until we are fully operational, but with 4 of the most popular Toyota colors coming in on sheet, that means we'll be able to get to other colors (Cement, Quicksand, Army Green, etc.) quicker, even if you are further down the waitlist.

Thanks again guys! I've talked about paint developments in the past, but this is when it's actually getting real with hard dates.

 

Been lurking on this thread for a while. It's cool to see how things have progressed. Thanks for the update(s). I am in for Midnight Black hood bulge and grille surround, plus TPO bumper shellz when everything is available to order at the same time. Stoked to get rid of that nasty chrome!

@EC1 My order got corrected and I received the Tundra parts today. Rears are already on, thanks for getting that all squared away.
