Katzkin leater seats... what do you have?

I most of the work after I got off of my regular job. All headrest took about 1 hour. The smaller back seat took about 2-3 hours. The larger back seat took about 2-3 after I got the ideal on what needs to come apart. I separated the back cushion from the bottom cushion and it went pretty smooth. The 2 front seats were done on Saturday, and it took about 4-5 hours for both seats. Friday night I disconnected the battery to make sure airbags didn’t have any residual power. Only tools I needed were hogring pliers and hog rings, diagonal pliers to cut the old rings out, and general mechanics tools to remove the seat. I was pretty impressed with myself when I finished them!!! Money saved!!!

 

Here is the finished product. When I ordered the seats, and after paying for them I called the company to get the TSS embroidered on all the seats. It was and extra $15 per seat.

Yeah that looks great. I like the embroidered part. I want to do TRD SPORT on mine.

Compared to the factory seats how comfortable are they now with the Katzkins?

I just bought a 2019 TRD sport and the seats are 100x better than the cloth seats in my 2014 tundra. They have way more cushion than the older truck.

In my 2014 I had katzkins installed with the degreez heat and cool kit. Idk why but the front seats were hard as hell. The back seats were nice and cushy.

I guess what I’m asking is do you feel like the new seats are as comfortable as stock but with leather?

 

The Katzkin leather seats I bought are way more comfortable than the cloth seats I had. I can’t compare the oem leather vs Katzkin, but it was a 100% improvement going from cloth to leather. Do you know what %, and what areas of your seats were leather? I have an 08 Avalon, and the seats are leather, but I stop conditioning the seats, and now they are hard. I need to put in a little TLC on my Avalon.

I went from oem cloth seats to katzkin factory level leather. They had the perforated seat for the cooling function. But like I said the difference in comfort between my 2014 cloth seats and my 2019 cloth seats are night and day. My 2019 is like sitting in a lazy boy. My 2014 was like sitting on a wood chair with a half in cushion

 

What you guys paying for this parts and labor?

 

I'm not sure what each of them cost separate, but I was quoted $1700 for the style seats I want and installed. Going to call Katzkin direct today and find out how much the covers are and then find someone local who can install them to see if it would be any cheaper.

 

In my city it was $12-1300for the covers and $600 for the degreez. I do not recommend the degreez

 

I need to get this done.

 

Paid right at $900 for these delivered (should be here in a week or so, then installing myself)

This is the black and red stitching I had in my truck that just got totaled.

 

I was thinking of doing the same but I don't know if I would get tired of the red. Also my truck has no red inside. But all my suspension is red

 

Is that double stitching or single? Looks awesome

 

Just single but looks double because of the seam.

Nice!! I got almost those same ones but had the diamond stitch in the red wing part and just TRD in the seat. Can’t wait!

 

Any hints or tips on the headrest cover install? That's the only part I'm nervous about.
