I checked them out but they only have power fold version in stock at a cost of over $800 :eek2:. The manual version are reasonable for $280 so I think I'll wait until they are back in stock.

Yea the power fold really jumps the price up for sure!...I’m just lazy and didn’t wanna have to get out to manually fold if needed

Another great video Patrick and those mirrors are fantastic. I love the power folding upgrade - was so tired of walking around the truck every time I wanted to get in or out of the garage.

I watched the video. If you existing mirrors didn't come with turn signals or flood lights it appears you can still hook that stuff up? Can you also make them power folding if you existing factory mirros are not power folding?

Turn signals just work. It's part of the factory harness, even if you don't currently have it.

Flood light needs wiring and a switch.

Power folding also needs wiring and switch. Companies like KTJO offer a kit, but there is also information on the forum of others who have done it without a kit. Personally I used the KTJO kit and then modified it to meet my needs. There are a few threads on this - just search power folding mirrors.

Good job. Will this be compatible with my 2012 with factory Toyota tow mirrors? Thanks in advance.

Pete explained it perfectly!… The only wires you will have to run are for the floodlights and because your factory mirrors are not power folding you would have to run a wire for that with the switch provided by boost auto… So it’s definitely doable, you would just have one extra step of wiring that I didn’t have to do in the video… Let me know if I can help!

I put the power-folding ones (basically the same ones Patrick got) on my TRD Pro (didn't come with power fold) and wired it to a Gen2 power-folding switch (the Gen2 Limited had power fold mirror switch that used the same connector as the non-power fold switch). Installation isn't any more involved than the wiring of the flood lights to a separate switch.

One thing I find interesting - Patrick had to actually run an add-a-tap for the running lights. On my truck, the running lights are actually part of the factory wiring...I didn't have to run any extra wiring for them to come on.

Question on the power fold version. Can you still manually fold them when the truck is off or does that causes issues with the motor?

Hmm, that’s a good question...I’ve never tried to manually fold them, I’m lazy and love the power fold...lol...I would be slightly nervous to even try it, I wouldn’t wanna mess anything up with the motor but I’ll email them and see what they say!

Yes, you can. They work on a heavy spring-loaded clip/plate of sorts that will cam/clutch out if too much resistance is applied. The plate will slip off the engagement in the mirror body until either you return them to the same position or you run the motor (using the switch) to the position that matches up with where the mirrors are at. This also allows the mirror to be folded the wrong way (toward the front of the truck - think of a bicyclist hitting it while riding along the sidewalk) without damaging the motor.

Unfortunately they didn’t give me a promo code for my viewers, but if you decide to order and wouldn’t mind using my link I would appreciate it!...(link is below, and also under video in info section)... I don’t make anything from it, it’s just a way for them to see how successful the video is in advertising the mirrors...hoping to maybe get a code for my viewers in the future, this video is going extremely well!
