No. I felt confident in skill but I don’t have all the tools I need anymore so till I bought them I just decided to get it done somewhere. My Toyota dealership that I bought it from was actually all good with doing the work. Originally looking at around $5-600 with alignment which was the same as a reputable off road shop about an hour from me but all said and done it was in the 700s but it’s done and they stand behind it and they’re close by. I’ll pay a little more for that since it’s a brand new truck.

    Looks great!

I did wheels/tires/5100’s/alignment all at the same time, so I went ahead and had the shop do everything (even though I really wanted to try to swap the shocks myself).

Check out the Cooper XLTs. I got 33”s and have been truly happy with them. Great on roads and made driving in snow and ice a breeze.

$700 just to install front coilovers and then an alignment?
    WOW!!
Around here an alignment is $120. I did my suspension in the driveway on jack stands the front took right at 2 hours and never done the Tundra before.
$290 hourly rate if they do it at my slowness. Great Googly Moogly!!

Give me a lift and now that I have done it once bet I could knock it out in about an hour and a half.

When I did my Expedition 3 years ago I picked up my Coilovers from 4wheelsparts they asked if I wanted them to install them of course I didn’t but out of curiosity asked how much and they wanted $250.
The Expedition fronts have a ton more to disassemble to get the Coilovers out compared to the Tundra.

Tires for me would be a 275/70/18
    Cooper Discover AT3 XLTS
    Cooper Discover STT Max
    General Grabber X3
Based upon what you are looking to do with the truck.

Yea they figured 3 hours for front and rear plus the alignment which was going to be in the 500s but till it was all said and done that’s where it landed. I was a little shy with a brand new 45k truck in case it gave me any issues and this way Toyota isn’t giving me any shit down the road. I basically paid for piece of mind lol. In the whole scheme of things it’s whatever. It looks and rides awesome so I’ll roll with it.

Ahh you did not mention rears. That helps a little bit but still makes me glad I can do most of this stuff.

Panicman, just curious about your front bumper, is it wrapped or did you install color matched bumper covers?

    Thanks!

Those are just TRD Offroad wheels that I bought as take offs for $400. I had them sand blasted and powdercoated 60% gloss black. The caps are TRD caps from Toyota, purchased from Amazon.

When it was all said and done, I sold my factory TRD Offroad wheels for $400 and recouped that cost.

However, it was $100 per wheel for the blast and PC.

So as luck has it, MGM has a near twin in PlastiDip Anthracite, especially when you follow that color with glossifier.

I applied mine a couple years ago and it has held up nicely. I even wash it like a body panel.

mine does have some nicks that I have touched up, and it really is time to pull it off and put new on, or decide on a permanent option.

Here is how it looked going on:

I think the ride is much improved compared to the stock Offroad “trail tuned” 4600’s.

The ride is smoother over bumps, steering is nicer, and I feel like there is less body roll- like none.

I did go to bigger/different tires at the same time, so it’s tough for me to tell what made the biggest difference.

the stock ride wasn’t bad but in my opinion the 6112s have a more solid feel. Less bounce
