    OK,

    I'll try and be brief, I tackled and finished the drivers side 6112 and what a WTF time I had! I went over different steps from different sites and where people say use a tie down strap from having the brake assembly from swing to far, well It never swang! Just loosened the LCA cam bolts and it drop enough so I could unscrew 4 bolt top on old shock then unbolted sway bar and long bolt at bottom of shock and wholly duck shit things were tight and used bolt brake bar a bit too. I feel like Bam Bam from the flint stones grabbed my arm and swung me around like a rag doll, guess it my old bones!

    Those 2 that hold the LCA to the Brake assembly where a whole slut to line up, I almost lost my marbles and went full blown mental but had to say a few prayers and back to baby steps!\

    also the thing with the cotter pin next to the brake assembly, I just took pin off and loosened bolt never took it off though, was I supposed to!

    Am I assuming right that it doesn't matter what 6112 goes to what side, also at the top of the 6112 where the 4 screws go it says face out with arrow I hope I was right I put the arrow facing outlay from the inside but away from the truck!

    Can I do the front 6112's then take it in for alinement and they can retorque all bolts! I am doing the 5160's and CB shackles next can I do the alinement after doing front end or do I have to do every thing first!

    You can do Front then back. However, to save you money and time it's easier to do it all at once before alignment.

    They probably wont do anything for you on the torquing side. Just make sure you followup yourself after driving a mile or two.

    We just didn't tell you what a bitch the two lca bolts are because we wanted you to earn your stripes geno! Haha, starting the big ass fine threads is probably the hardest part. I had a socket break when I was taking mine apart. Breaker bar whacked my knee hard before hitting me in the face. Hit myself so hard I went over backwards! I suggested the strap because I thought you were doing the ucas to. You don't have to separate the tie rod, that's what the one with the cotter pin in one of the pics is. Good job, now get the other side done so you can drive it with a big grin of pride from doing yourself.:D

    Great job Geno..........we knew you could do it ! I know what your talking about with those 2 lower bolts into the knuckle assy. I think I invented a few choice words the first time I attempted it. No need to get the rears on before the alignment. Get the other front done, then get her in for alignment. The rear shocks won't impact your lift/alignment. Get the front complete and give your old, worn and tattered body a day rest.......:eek:

    If you're doing lift shackles, they can effect the alignment. I bought the lifetime from firestone. Put the lift together in stages, took it three times during the process. Then I had @LOTSOFTOYS do it right.

    Sorry to laugh but the knee thing is straight up me too, I was so tired at the end I bent down and put my knee and 200 pounds of force on a screw laying on the concrete, It felt like a drill going in, LMFAO!

    I hate that, even a pebble can hurt like an SOB. I do Hvac, have litterly screwed myself a few times. It's real special when you have to put the drill in reverse and back a screw out of your finger. Then it festers forever.

    Oh yeah, tip for changing the shackles. Don't use a pry bar to pull the spring down and wind up with a finger pinched between the spring and frame. Talk about painful, had to reposition the bar and pry the spring off to get my finger back. That was three months ago, the day after the screw. What luck, same middle finger! Yes, the nail is still purple. There's a safer way, a scissor Jack and a clamp on the frame to keep the Jack from slipping out. You don't have to drop the rear end down as far either.

    You're good to go as long as the arrow is pointing out from the fender. From what you're describing, you did it right!

    Yep! I think all of us that have done our own installs are well acquainted with those damn LCA bolts!! Everything else is CAKE! You'll know what to expect tomorrow! It should go by a lot faster, and wouldn't be surprised if you actually had time to knock out the rear!

    On the LCA I don't know if I loosened the bolts and nuts correctly, If I'm looking at the straight at the LCA you have the left and right bolts/nuts On the right do I loosen and tighten from the right side facing the read bumper and the left (front) bolt/nut do I loosen and tighten from the left side closest to the front bumper! Are they the cam bolts/nuts and if I through the cam off can it all be fixed on alinement!

    The service tech at a Toyota dealer near me said bring it in after I put the 6112's on and he will have it alienend and have his guys recheck the torque settings on all the bolts!

    Thanks, Hopefully I didn't confuse you on the LCA cam bolts and nut ends in regards which side on each I loosen and tighten

    Yessir. I would loosen from the bolt side, not the nut. Just get a crescent and clamp on the nut, socket on the bolt and loosen up the bolt while anchoring the nut.
