You need to be careful and verify that the volume knob indeed does not bypass the onboard gain. There were several series of Rockford amplifiers where the bass knob did exactly that. It’s been a few years since I have tried to keep current on what’s out there.

    I'll be running a Kenwood DMX1057XR.

The next weak link will be my mid/tweeter combo, Hertz K 165. But - I'm going to have a cold beer and reflect on how there is _always_ something left to improve or upgrade. I've spent the day fighting dynamat in the hot sun so I'm just looking forward to getting my system done and start listening to music

    You're doing a fine job..
    The Dynamat is an asswhippin'.
It's real life cut and paste, over, and over, and over again...

You're correct, no matter what you do, you'll always think there is something to upgrade.
Just get it to sound like YOU want it to, that's all that matters..

I spent/wasted a lot of time and money trying to get my stock Entune to work with the Alpine amp, the Stealthbox, using an AC LC6i, and then a JBL MS8 DSP.
But in the end, replacing that Entune for a good aftermarket HU it what did it..

I'll be joining you with a beer as soon as I get done mowing my yard and my neighbor's yard.

Sounds like you lucked into a good setup. I would wire that dvc sub at 2 ohms and run it. You’ll get more power out of your amp that way and it will sound good. Don’t sweat it.

In a way I did. James said the parts I initially ordered were OOS so he gave me a bit of an 'upgrade' for free. (Solid guy.)
