First let me start by saying that although this is my first Tundra I have had a few Tacomas. 2004,2008,2017 and 2019 as well as 2 Highlanders and 2 Rav 4's.

In my opinion the older pre 16 Tacomas had a better engine and tranny but that's my opinion. In the end getting in and out of the Tacoma became an issue with me banging my head so I chose to move on. I decided on the 2021 Tundra because I like the V8 and for personal reasons have no interest in anything Turbo. So here is what I think after 500 miles.
    1. As expected not great on gas but that's not why I bought it. Drove all the other makes before and this truck worked for me!
    2. For a larger truck to me it is as or more nimble for everyday driving than the Tacoma. This is something I did not expect.
    3. V8 vs. V6, nuff said. I can see all 8 spark plugs!
    4. When looking at trucks this one stuck out as everything was where it should be even when I closed my eyes. Bells and whistles not necessary.
    5. No, its not the most up to date vehicle but heck at 58 years old neither am I. LOL
    6. Feels like a quality product and acts like and does what I want in a truck.
    7. Plenty of add ons available at decent prices.
    8. Proven reliability from what I can see. I have no idea as to what the new model will offer but don't care as I am old school.
    9. As far as cost this vehicle ended up costing me less when compared to similar trucks from the other guys.
    10. I know about the trailer cooler and its not an issue
    11. Feel good when driving which above all is the most important thing!

Well there it is. I am sure others might not feel the same way but I am a happy camper at the moment.

There is no room for a reasonable stance on this issue, the lines are drawn...<ominous music>

Just ribbing you! Congrats on a nice vehicle.

    Congrats!
I've had mine for a year now, and still look forward to driving it and enjoy the heck out of it every time I do. It's my retirement truck and will probably outlast me.

You sound like me. I just want a truck that will be a truck for 10+ years.

Same for me. Now looking for the boat I need (not really) for my new home on the lake. At least I will not have to worry about it's weight! LOL

I say you did a great job of describing the pros and cons of your new ride and that you picked an excellent vehicle!
