Do you at least make the bombs serviceable? Don’t hide the oil filter under 5 skid plates!

 

It feels a little far but I like that it looks cleaner. So I don't mind reaching a bit for them.

 

I wish that was the case, but a lot of people who do design never see their creation or have to service it. Anything I've worked upon that was never the case since I spent my earlier days fixing others mistakes. Actually, I still do a lot of that today.

Also, this is on a strip mall property "for lease" What the hell purpose does this serve? Is there a pin pad with a compartment holding a key?


I'm guessing you call the realtor, and they give you a code you enter to get the key so you can inspect the property without them having to come across town or whatever.

He should put some wood blocks under those jacks instead of extending them out all the way. The automatic hydraulic leveling systems on RVs are pretty cool.

I see people all the time under their truck/car using only a floor jack. I stopped, and talked to a friend of mine doing the same thing one time. I've lived in FL twice and each time I was glad to move back to TN. That said, there are FAR worse places to live in the US.

not quite. Key stays on property - otherwise Realtors would have 100 keys at the office. "Who's got 23 Beach Ave?" Key lives in box on property. You can't see a property w/o Realtor present, The Realtor has the code, opens the box, uses the key to let you in & locks it all up after. Customer never has free access.

It’s also common for an owner to have repair work done or even complete remodels before selling a property, in which case it will have been installed and used by their contractor(s) before it’s even on the market. And once in a while, some dipshit will take off with the key in his pocket, accidentally. Then he’s gotta turn around and bring the key back, or if he doesn’t answer his phone like an asshole, you gotta lock up from the inside and jump out a window or some shit,..... yeah

It’s such a cheap and easy fix. The guy I bought my shell from gave me a set of vice grips when I bought the shell because he would clamp them on the shaft to hold it open. I think they were more expensive than buying new struts.

I doubt it makes any difference, but is there a correct orientation for them? I have mine the other way.

I was told by an old timer that having them with the shaft on the bottom helped keep the shaft seal oiled. And then he started to ramble about discovery exploding and I blanked. Don't know if it was bs or not. He was a funny guy like that.

makes it sound like you want the cylinder “pointing down” so the shaft on the lower part when it’s closed. It looks like yours are mounted fine.

 

Yeah I see what you mean, our mounting points are opposite. I think, but can’t confirm, that this was a JASON cap.

Well my 1999 Camry I picked up for 900 bucks that “needed an engine” is fixed with a 40 dollar oem timing belt. Whoever replaced the water pump didn’t set the tensioner correctly and it jumped 3 teeth. In this vehicle all you have to do is re time it and enjoy. So... awesome

1999 Camry CE, 99k miles. No rust... I think it’ll sell quick

 

Whatever happened to the one you bought where the timing chain/belt was broken and the girl got screwed? Did you sell it?

 

Got someone coming to look at it Sunday. New bumper, did all the fluids and maintenance, aligned it, detailed it. Did the brakes with oem parts. Cars sorted for someone. Hope they take care of it. I put 2k miles on it and no issues
