Have a 2018 Limited. Engine tick drove me crazy. Thought it was fuel injectors. Just changed my oil and used Rotella 0W20 Synthetic for gas engines. Tick is gone !!!

I was using Mobil 1 0W20 full synthetic. I don't know the molybdenum content of Rotella. My Tundra only has 18600 miles and the tick is definitely gone!!!

I ask because I've been using the Toyota branded synthetic because it has higher zinc and moly content than Mobil 1. When I switched I noticed a big difference in engine noise.

Glad to hear it. Stick with what works for you. Just for information: The Rotella is $5/quart at my local Tractor Supply.

It has been out for at least a 1 1/2 years, several members have stated it did not sell good enough. Pep boys just had a big rebate on it. I can only find it at Tractor supply.

I just switched to Schaeffers 5w30, was running their 0w20, engine is much much quieter now! And the additive package is great as is expected from them

I also went with Shell Rotella 0w20 Synthetic for my first oil change at 3000 miles, truck now has 5800 miles and I will say the engine is quieter now than it was before the Shell oil. I plan to change my oil again probably in June and I certainly hope the rumor's of being discontinued are not true.

It's so disheartening to find something you like only to find it will no longer be available.

I would also would not be shocked to see the Toyota Service dept not using Toyota oil either?

The Dealers where I have been have big barrels of generic branded oil for the oil change monkey and I think you have to ask and pay for branded oils a lot of times.

Some advertise a brand with the coupons they offer but I am not at all convinced that this is what you get in there either.
