Looking to reach out to some Tundra owners in my area that enjoy camping. Gonna try to do as much camping as possible this summer and my family’s new to the area, so if anyone is interested, hit me up.

    Thanks!

Definitely check out the FB group. Diverse group, so I'm sure you can get a camping hook up.
I update here with the monthly meets, but the FB group is far more active.

    What part of Chesapeake?

Not far from me. I'm about 10 miles from the state line. Just east of the bypass. Did you get much of the shit weather just now?

It’s coming down hard right now. We had some hail earlier around 1600. I’m kind of new to the area, is the bypass on the expressway? I live off of Ballahack Road.

Yes the bypass is the expressway. My daughter lives off ballahack, down backwoods, but in NC.

The hail on the news looked vicious. Hope you're ok. My daughter sent this picture from Moyock.

Right on. Yeah, Backwoods is only a couple of minutes down the road. I live in the housing in front of the Navy Base.

We’re all safe here. Ready for the sun to come back out again already.

Also, that’s some serious hail. We didn’t have it that bad.

Top golf, this Sunday I think.
October there's a Corolla beach clean up organized by Tidewater Broncos FB group that some are thinking about going to.

Anyone know of some places to do some camping, doesn’t have to be at a certified campsite, just trying to get out of town a few hours for a short weekend trip.

Looking at blue ridge area, assateague island maybe, even places in North Carolina.
Just wanted to see if anyone has explored and found any cool spots to setup shop, do some fishing, hiking, etc.

GWNF has some remote primitive sites, I know there's some trout streams in the area.
My daughter camps at Assateague, I'm not sure exactly where, but you can fish the ocean or the bay.
Oregon Inlet state campground is decent. And there's the bonus of beach driving and surf fishing.
Closer to home, First Landing state park has some nice bay side campsites. Surf fishing in bay. There's also some head boats that aren't too expensive.

Assateague Island is great for camping. National side is more primitive but has some creature comforts such as toilets but they have primitive camping down the drive on beach(not sure if you have to buy a permit to drive on along with the camping).Pm if you need more details about assateague and I can help you out
