Not sure yet, I really like the long box but it’s expensive. May go DIY route for the three small openings.

Pine Valley is a quick easy trail off the 8 just past Alpine. Not much closer, a couple easy trails in Ramona as well. The desert or Big Bear are the best for more fun trails.

Pine Valley is a fun short trail just off 8 off Pine Valley Rd. Nothing too crazy. Used to have a fun side trail area, but it’s been fenced off.

I’m not familiar with Palomar Ridge.

Yeah, I’ve been there to run Sidewinder and one other trail my buddy took me on, but haven’t driven around there enough to know the lay of the land.

Nearly all my wheeling was done in my Tacoma. Tundra is still fresh so I haven’t hit near as much with it. Sliders will definitely change that though.

This was taken at Valley of the Moon (also not too far, off 8 after golden acorn), but I wouldn’t recommend to take a tundra here without sliders and skids at a minimum

I've only been to Corral Canyon once and did the outer loop on a dirt bike. Slid out, broke my front brake lever off and told myself I'm never going back even if on four wheels.

Palomar Divide Truck Trail on the back side of the mountain is probably closed this time of year, but it's a nice and long trail.

Nate Harrison Grade starts in Pauma on the front side of Palomar and goes up to the State Park. It's open year round. It is an extremely easy half-paved trail that I could take my Corolla on. I can't stress enough that this is a super easy joke of a trail, but it is better than nothing. I have purposely gone to this trail excited to do some wheeling only to be stuck behind a minivan going up it. It is in my neck of the woods so I'll hit it sometimes if I have an afternoon to kill.

There's some other spots in the county that are fun to hit but I'd rather not openly publish them. Maybe if some of you want to tag along sometime. Nothing in the county will compare to the mountains or desert though.

I'm also hoping to take some vacation here within the next few months and do a good trip. Thinking a Mojave run and a few days at the river, or something else if there's a group trip ever.

    Let’s DO it! :mudding:

I think I can cobble together something in May, but I’ve got a bunch of family commitments every weekend in April. But you may find other takers any time; just shout out where you’d like to explore and when, probably get a couple volunteers to go with.

Also, it’ll be fun to add a another best gen to our group!

    Heck yeah!
What is your “after” date, Mike? @nishibot and @Mrs. Nishibot and I have been looking at 5/22. You available that weekend, or the one after (Memorial Day weekend, I think)? :oldglory:

That would be SO great if you come down this way!

Ok, it will also be Uber busy on trails. Could you do the 22nd, or is that too quick a turnaround?

I have no commitments as it stands and I don't see anything else coming up, so count me in for the end of May.

    @Voss Definitely tag along!

It will be SO MUCH BETTER with you than without you! I know the 22nd will also entail an abrupt turnaround for the @nishibots but it seemed worth it as every week gets hotter + pandemic loosening Memorial Day crowds could suck.

How ‘bout we confer via text and wok this out. :gossip: Everyone else, please give us a minute... er, a day or so....
