Trying to help another Texas member out. Do any of you guys have the Desert Eagle plate with a 6 inch lift? @1320chick is needing some assistance from us. I am on a 4/2 with no issues but I don't know if there are any issues with the larger lifts. Tyler hasn't worked out the lift issues with his plates yet. Thanks guys.

The dude from Desert Eagle just called me today - he said to call him anytime with questions (214) 287-8960. Great guy. I'd suggest she give him a ring.

6 inch Pro Comp lift. OME rear springs with Coach Builder +3 shackles. Coach Builder tie rod ends. ICON 2.5 front and rear shocks with remote res. ICON Hyd bump stops. 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers on 18" fuel rims. Kenwood DNX 892 head unit with JL audio and RF amp pushing 2 Image Dynamics idq10 subs. SABM, S POD switches for 42" in bumper and 32" behind grille LED light bars. Full interior and exterior LED conversion. LED flush mount back up lights in rear bumper. Valentine one radar detector. V Leds under dash and seats foot well lighting. TRD pro head lights and grille. Full AJT dash kit
What do you mean Tyler has not worked out the lift issues yet? He has, he has made one for me and I have a 6 inch kit. Direct bolt up. DE will tell you to "call me in a week" for a couple of months with no outcome, Not good customer service IMO. Now as for Tyler, he is on his game, honest, and answers texts right away.

So the issue with some lifts (All BDS, and some rough country depending on how it was done) is that they cut out the factory cross member, which mine and everyone else’s bolts too. I am working on a solution for that problem though.

First option - easiest for me, but requires drilling.
Second option - make adapters to bolt to the specific lift. This requires design time and test fitting.

The reason I sell a plate specific to the Readylift/procomp is because they have a very easy to bolt too point on the cross member. I want to help BDS, and make rough country customers easier too

I can say we are lucky to have at least two great choices for cat protection plates. DE texted me this morning to ask me if I still wanted a plate. I texted back to tell him I picked one up at the Toyota dealership in Katy. He called me immediately to thank me and apologized for the wait. He gave me some tips on putting his plate on with the pro plate and some more tips on how to secure the truck doors (apparently thieves are now starting to steal doors???). His final tip was to get some 10 gauge wire and a block of C4... Told me to call him anytime with questions or to contact him on his Facebook page. He's been pretty swamped sending his plates around the country. The wait sucks but it is what it is.

So Vahalla or Desert Eagle - I think you are good to go with either.

Any chance you compared the BDS to zone off-road 5inch kit? I know they are the same company but wonder if the crossmember pieces are the same. I have the zone off-road lift and want some protection also

Same applies to the zone kit. So this leads me to lean more towards the first option. Would those who don’t have Readylift/procomp be ok with drilling through your aftermarket subframes?

How bout bolt on the back and a couple welds up front? That way if it needs to come off we can grind off the welds and unbolt the rest?or a couple holes in the crossmember would work also

I am not opposed to having it welded, not everyone has access to a welding machine

Something about there are a couple of bolts for the doors that aren't painted. Replace those with tamper proof bolts. Apparently, they are breaking the drivers side window, pulling the hood release, popping the hood and cutting the negative battery cable to disable the alarm, then they unbolt the doors and drive off. I'm more of a visual learner so I need to go out and look at the doors - when he called, I was in the middle of my morning workout and I haven't had a chance to look to see what he was talking about.

This is 100% accurate. He was doing this to me for a couple months. Lucky for me Tyler came around. DE actually did call me last week (2.5 MONTHS after he first told me "next week") and i had to tell him i went with someone else that shipped immediately and had extended protection. So happy i found Tyler.

My driver's back side is protected, so I just installed an aluminum plate to cover my passenger side. Just bolted the plate to the heat shield that covers the convertor. And used the money I saved for the Pedal Commander.

If they go under there with a couple of pliers they will be able to remove it, but hopefully they will just come with the sawzall. :sawzall: And if that happens I will just get rid of the rear cats all together.

Do you need a vehicle with a BDS lift to work on? I'd be glad to pay for a set and be willing to drive to you this next week (I'm off Mon - Thur).

I went out and looked. The bolts that attach the hinges to the cab are painted. The bolts that attach the hinges to the doors are not painted.

I believe those are the ones he was talking about then. He said to replace those with the tamperproof bolts.

Yeah, I don't know. Like I said, the dude texted me and asked if I still needed a plate. When I texted him back that I bought one in Katy, he called me immediately and thanked me. I told him about my problem with one of the tamper proof bolts sticking and he told me it must have been a bad screw. I then said that I was going to try to install again because of my problem with the pro plate and he told me to cut the plate, and to replace the pro bolts with new ones and lock nuts for the top. I said I had drilled holes in my plate that line up and was going to try to get to the pro bolts from the front, like others have, and if worse comes to worse, I'll do it his way. Also, I wasn't going to use tamper proof stainless bolts for the rear of the plate because of how hard it is to get to the top of the pro plate. He agreed and said that in the 8 years that he's been making these plates, he has yet to hear of any thief getting through one.

Then he told me about the doors being stolen. After that he went into how to prevent your tailgate from getting taken. Again, I was in the middle of a workout and my barbell was staring at me with these longing eyes so I wasn't 100% into the conversation but I figured I'd look into it later. The gist of the conversation was that thieves are a bunch of worthless ass-suckers and I probably should have bought a used tank. Super nice dude though and I appreciated all of the info he was giving me.

I did a pretty good search too and didn't see anything about doors being taken.
