I just purchased a 2018 Tundra. I used a vent mounted phone holder in my old 2007 Yukon. I’m not really wild about those...or the suction cup ones. I’ve never had one with the magnets that use adhesive to stick to your dash. I’m not real wild about that idea either. (Yes...I can be picky as Crap!!).

All of that being said, I’m just curious of anyone has or has had this one... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L698D64/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_95JDVWJ3ETN5Z5HMCYDC?_encoding=UTF8

I have also looked at the Proclip USA mounts. I really like them too. There’s really no difference in the price. Just looking for some other opinions or view points.

    Thanks!!

If you search for Proholder, you should find some threads on that phone mount. I know many members have it and love it. If you are off roading or on very bumpy roads, it seems to shake but that is kinda expected I assume lol

I considered that too but looks annoying to install and drilling the dash.

I used the scosche magnetic mounts for $12 and laughed at the people who spent $70 on the pro clip mounts. The scosche one was great until I would go off roading and it would fall off or the magnet would occasionally droop down. Then I bought the pro clip and it’s the best damn thing I’ve ever bought for the truck. Buy once, cry once. New philosophy I follow thanks to this forum.

Price has nothing to do with it for me though.
The Scosche just works harder for me and across all of my vehicles too.

The Proclip works best for me. Super stable, and puts an iPhone in the perfect spot for forward-facing videos while off-road or scenic trips.
I have several time-lapse videos, or footage of the person in front of me clearing obstacles. I don't keep it on all the time like a dashcam, but its handy when you want to record where you're going.

You purchase the clip specifically designed for your vehicle. Then you purchase the mount specific to your phone. They are a bit pricey, but seem to be well worth it according to the majority of the reviews I have read. That’s the route I plan to go. I started this thread mainly looking for comparisons between the Proclip USA and the 3W ProHolder. It seems the ProHolder has a tendency to slip out of the crevice at the top. Some have fixed this with 2 sided tape. I just don’t want to do that. Plus I like the placement of the Proclip better.

The magnetic mounts are amazing. I stopped using one but only because I wanted to retain wireless charging. I don't actually know if the magnet would interfere with that but I assume it would.

I have the 3W ProHolder in my Tundra and Scosche MagicMount Dash Mini in my 4Runner. Both are working great for me. Phone is too old for wireless charging, so I charge it using a cord in both Toyotas. The 3W was secure until I removed it once. Then it wanted to pop off. Double sided tape fixed it.

There is nothing annoying about it. Its a very easy install. Took me all of a half hour and it is the best mount system I have ever used.

Another great thing of the pro clip is you can turn the phone vertical or horizontal. When i'm waiting in the car, its a great place to watch videos and I can turn it, where as with the scosche I couldn't do that. Also like the other guy said, its in the perfect mounting position to not divert your eyes away from driving.

All of my Scosche are literally just a magnet mount on the dash and a steel plate on the phone and I can sit the phone any way that I decide I want to?
So this makes no sense to me at all?

I’m using a proclip with a scosche magic mount XL. That magnet is extremely solid and my phone never moves out of place.

This proclip mount is pricey, but it is very stable. I have it and love it. Plus it is removable if you ever trade in your truck.

^Ditto! OP I had the mount you're interested in and it shook too much for me. I purchased the Scosche mount from a recommendation from @2020Platinum and it's hands down the best mount! Here's the link...
