The wife and I took some trails by the flint river the other day. Things got a little carried away and I ended up a few feet off the ground on more than one occasion. 20 miles of dirt, mud, rocks and hills certainly took it toll. I thought everything was great and the truck handled the beating pretty well. Stopped by Home Depot on the way home, that’s when I realized the front of the truck was lower than the car parked beside me. Both coil overs were broken at the bottom. Had the stock Bilsteins on it. Looking for an upgrade that can handle some rough driving but won’t break my bank either.

@Toytec Lifts can help or since you are off-roading and budget is a factor maybe go the Billstein 6112 route...

There’s the passenger side. I don’t have a pic of the drivers side but looks pretty much the same.

Spacers turned your shocks into the bump stop.

Not sure about the spacers. This is what it looks like. Can you tell from that?

So this opens up a new set of questions. I didn’t know there were spacers, I have a set of rims and tires that barely fit under the truck as it is. Will losing the spacers still allow those to fit? Is there anything that needs to be done to take them off or can I just literally remove them and install the new shock?

I don't off-road at all... wouldn't limiting straps be a good thing when the truck is getting air as described?

FYI.....there are many other great options besides Bilstein's just sayin......simply takes some due diligence.

The answer to your question is no since your stock shocks provided no lift. Your lift came from your spacers. If you were to go the Billstein route you can utilize the shocks to level the front of your truck. The Billstein 5100s and 6112 shocks provide lift so you wouldn’t need the spacers. As @Black Wolf mentioned there are other options for shocks. I have installed the 5100s on mine but she does not go off-road.

    Tastefully enhanced...
You can't go wrong with that setup...they will serve your needs well...consider UCAs if you find yourself going higher then 2.5" on your lift..your CVs and suspension geometry starts getting squanky after 2.5"...
