Has anyone installed and tested the no drill roof rack by Spider? Review? I am skeptical of it not flying off with all my gear attached to it.

The manufacturer has claimed to have it tested, more than once, through an independent company.
He spoke about it here briefly, but I was able to get more straightforward information by emailing him.

There are some videos posted on YouTube as well.

I was leaning this direction and am still thinking about getting one.

I sold epoxies for 18 years and am very familiar with their strengths.
The epoxy he is using is a high grade epoxy capable of a 700lbs shear/pull value.
These pull values are required to post safety numbers by divisor of 4.
So, in all reality, the pull value is tested to 2800lbs.

Another benefit is that the depression they rest in is tapered.
Not only will the tapered, locking fit hold well, but the rack itself forces the mounts into the rail gutters more tightly, in a sense.

I considered using the mounts only for a Prinsu rack, however, at the time I inquired, he wanted upwards up $400 for a set of mounts, with epoxy and hardware.
It was still a brand new product at the time so it may be less expensive now.

I know some have questioned whether the mounts will hold, but after a little research and having some familiarity with the products they’re using, I’m pretty confident it’s a solid design.

Those racks are great, Yakima and Thule make similar systems. Once centered and tightened up they are very solid... and easily removable. I think the only drawback is most folks don't like things on their paint. I ran one of these types of racks on an old Focus and it was fine, but I always worried about the feet rubbing the paint off. It never did, but it was a concern. I guess some PPF underneath would remedy that.

Its too bad The Tundra doesn't come with accommodations for front to aft rails to be added on. Wouldn't even need to include the rails with the truck, just make the same connections the Sequoia uses and give the buyer the option to add them or not. A factory drilled and sealed hole would sit much better with me than doing it myself.

It's VERY secure from everything I've read... I'm strongly considering getting one myself.
Reason I popped back up on this old thread is to ask something I haven't seen answered yet... does anyone know if this rack allows enough clearance for a sunroof to open and close freely?
    Thanks!!
