    Hey Everyone,

I bought a 2017 Tundra a couple weeks ago which didn't have an antenna. When I went to install one I noticed there was only about 1/4" of thread to screw it in. It looks like an antenna may have broken off inside the hole.

Thoughts on how to remove that if it is the case?

    Thanks

your best bet is to center punch it and use a reverse drill bit.

    Sounds like a plan!

I think I have a something to center punch it.

The general idea is to use the center punch create an indentation that would receive the reverse drill bit?

And I'm not crazy for thinking the antenna hole should be deeper than 1/4"

yes the indention from the center punch keeps the drill bit from walking around and damaging the base. you only need a small bit, i usually use 1/8".
there is definitely a piece of the old antenna stuck in there

after looking at it again it looks pretty rusted. if you use a small screw driver or pick does the broken piece move at all?

Spray it with PB Blaster and let it sit overnight....fill the hole all the way up. This will help with the rust and removal.

You could possibly drill a small pilot hole and try an easy out as well.

I had the same issue on mine when I bought it. Soaked it with liquid wrench and teased it out with some slim needle nose vise grips (the little tiny ones). Turn it a smidge and hit it with the liquid wrench again. Just be careful not to bust it off since its so rusty.
