Hi y’all! I’m beginning to consider a supercharger and I a bit confused about the tuning game. I’m regearwd to 4.88 in my 2019 and just know I want to maybe do this... can someone give me a super elementary lesson/recommendation on what tune/ sc kit to do with that has done this? It seems like 2019+ tuning is not a thing yet? Am I misunderstood? I’m in Minnesota too so we have more moisture in our air if that matters.

The 2020s and 2021 are the only ones currently without tuning support.

Magnuson (based on the TRD S/C) offers their kits up to 2019s, they use OV Tune for the 2019s and were using HP Tuners for their earlier models:

    Harrop's stage 1 doesn't require a tune for its Stage 1 offering:

Whipple also has offering up to 2019s:

Yes I’m sure. It was a dealer owned loaner before. I didn’t choose it. That’s what I was finding but just wasn’t sure . I’ll give them a call. Thanks

I recommend emailing Magnuson if you haven't done so already, they got back to me within a day.

Yeah I called them and they told me to call lcepreformance who also said they’d call maginssem .... ‍♂️ Waiting on some return calls but thought I’d ask on here too.

apparently lce performance is Toyota specialist?

So if I’m not running flex fuel in my flex fuel engine, do I need to have a supercharger with a flex fuel tune? I’ve never run anything but regular 85/87 in the engine. I know that changes with the sc, but just thought I’d check.

Yes, and I think that one of the reasons is that the fuel injectors in the FFV trucks are a different size (flow) and you need a tune to properly control them. There may be other additional reasons, I'm not certain as I don't normally read much about the FFV specific item....

The reason you don't have to replace the fuel pump or injectors on an flex-fuel truck is due to the fact that the injectors are already considered high flow (because you need to inject more E85 vs. gasoline) and the pump is higher capacity. When you supercharge an FFV truck, unless you do fueling modifications past the stock kit, you can no longer run E85. The tune provided will take advantage of the larger injectors/force the fuel pump into "high" mode to ensure uniform AFRs.
