Disconnect battery. If you’re welding the cam tabs, the LCA should be removed to protect the bushings.

Yep that was me. The Total Chaos cam gussets are finally going to be installed tomorrow. Les Schwab is covering the cost for my local shop Accessory Outfitters to do the work in Beaverton, OR.

What is the correct factory torque on these?
I plan to max out my caster at home and take it in the shop and align to correct/check toe and camber.

You would also ask them to check the torque when you take it there after too just in case.

Thanks for the info sideways. Once I move the rear all the way out and the front all the way in, I will torque it, but the shop most likely will have the loosen to adjust camber. I figure this way the shop starts at max caster and works the camber from there.
Reasoning is I can’t find a shop that can do any thing other than red or green.

Are you running them? They look like they would help hold alignment potentially but they won’t do anything to help the weak stock cam tabs. They also would extremely limit the fine tuning of your alignment without an adjustable billet upper control arm. But I could be wrong

Well, I finally got the attention of the GM after submitting an email through customer service. He promptly called and denied any responsibility and basically told me to pound sand then hung up. You could tell how defensive he was with his tone that they know they messed up. Anyways, taking the truck to my body shop for repairs and re-alignment this evening.

Just noticed that a couple of my tabs are bent and ready to break off soon too. Local off road fab shop quoted me $400 to install total chaos gussets and do alignment. They get installed in three weeks!

Anyone with a 3rd gen have a cam tab issue yet? Not sure if chaos even has gussets for them yet...

How does this even happen? Hard off-roading? Carelessness when the tech is aligning the truck? My buddy's 3rd gen had this problem and I hammered the tab back in place. As long as everything is torqued properly, it shouldn't move...

Idk... everything is stock on me still and I'm pretty conservative. Driving dirt roads near my installation is the extent of it. Ofc tech tried to suggest i was too aggressive but there's no other impact evidence in the area so its kinda obv the cam rotated during regular use and sheered off the tab. Started a warranty claim today at 5k miles, will see if local dealerships play ball

Update: went to a different dealer. They confirmed 1st dealer probably messed up the tab when doing alignment. New dealer covering it under warranty and providing a rental... look out for your cam tabs... also apparently there's no consistent standard among dealers. Some suck, some will help
