I want to install a usb charger to the center console armrest storage box. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to access the back side of the cig lighter? I've searched this site a few different ways to figure out what needs to be removed to access the wiring. Thank you in advance for the help!IMG_9507.jpg

It turned out it was pretty easy to take the center console apart. I used a plastic pry tool to lift up the shift surround and the card holder first. IMG_9509.jpg
Turns out this is a good time to really wipe down all those nooks and gaps while the console is apart.IMG_9510.jpg
The larger section of the console came up pretty easy with the pry tool. Then I was able to access the wiring and the back side of the cig lighter in the box.

Made up the wire connections and used a step bit to enlarge the hole for the new charger. Before putting everything back together I tested the outlets - they worked.

Took the opportunity to wash the console with some soap and water. Dried all the parts with my wife's good kitchen towels. Everything snapped back together. Project complete - case closed.
