I'd never seen't it on a truck before. I think it would look real nice on imperial jade.

Mother F. Weekend ruined, hell maybe month.

Thinking about starting a go fund me for my upcoming alcohol consumption.

Edit: Updated for better picture. Also I feel like the brand deserves shaming.

Yeah but it’s not the hauler that I’m upset about. I’m upset about what was being hauled.

Bars are effed. Everything attached to them has some good road rash. Frame and wheels look to be sound minus some serious paint removal.

Im just so insanely pissed that something can fail at, literally, it’s only fucking job.

Not to mention that the bike is only 3 months old.

That really sucks to hear sorry. I doubt Allen will do anything about it though. Reputable brands like yakima, Thule or kuat bike carriers are the only ones I trust anymore as everything cheaper is crap nowadays

I don't even use a bike rack with the truck. I use a yoga mat (whirled peas and all that) as a tailgate cushion and chuck the bike(s) over the tailgate. (front wheel(s) out)
Then, a bungee from frame to corner anchor point to keep the bikes from flopping about whilst I rage around roundabouts and freeway on/off ramps.

I also have a chain and padlock for when I go inside places.

If I had a camper shell, I'd have to revise my strategy. But part of why I sold the Runner and bought the truck was for the bed.

Sorry for your loss. Bike rack failure is nightmare fuel.

I'm not a gold badge fan in general, but it looked good on my Evergreen Pearl 1996 4Runner Limited.

I keep thinking about it, but I'm told it's mucho noisy. I already have one vehicle you can barely converse in.

And I derive particular joy from stuffing full-size humans in that mid-size compartment.

I plan to use sound deadening for audio applications and fab a metal panel cover... no one ever sat back there and I can utilize the extra room for Rubbermaid action totes, recovery gear, etc...

Definitely louder but not to the point it bothers me. I covered it in sound deadening though.

Its those damn vents that make it noisy. There are ways around it, you can crack a window and the vents will shut, then you won't have the vent noise. I usually pop a rear door window slightly and it quiets the cab.

Plus the stench and you can always fit more lengthwise in the bed.

Every time I think about reconfiguring that space I always end up saying fuggetabouit because it seems removing the seats don’t ‘net’ that much more room for my needs anyways. The noise and limiting seating options is another strike for me.

i plan on it. Gotta make a full floor with compartment doors and might put boards and blocks on the back wall to hold a shelf when im not toting my dog. Might go full wall with a small rear window since i have a sliding window and dont need any extra sun. If i dont, ill just cover the back with whatever i reupholster the seats with.

What are my options, otherwise? Can i get high clearance or whatever that give more angle? Still looking for droop. Will rebuild these, but would rather upgrade because i plan to wander through the desert.

double beefy? Billet? CF? Lol. Who (aside from oem) are the go-to? This is my first ifs 4x4.

is there a front diff upgrade?

It looks like it might have been ‘tightened’. I moved in ‘05, and a decently reputable shop has taken care of it ever since, and the grease looks older than the pic shows.
