Since all of us have the TRD skid plates, just thought I’d throw it out there that if you start getting a popping or creaking noise when turning or on an incline while barely moving it’s probably the skid plate. Luckily I found a couple other threads about the same issue and I put some foam between the cross member and skid plate between the rear two bolts. All my noises are once again gone.

 

Put down $ on a Lunar Rock CM last Thursday with a build date of 4/2. Stopped by the dealer to check in and meet the salesman (Paid the deposit over the phone).
Build date is still 4/2 and I have a VIN. Now the wait really begins.

They (Tansky) just had a LR 4Runner dropped of yesterday too. I think the color really suits that vehicle well.

 

I actually called them about your truck. Just complete luck that they called me back and said they had another LR allocation. Crazy...

Just stopped in there a couple hours ago and verified my build date was good and they had a VIN.

I saw that LR 4 Runner and it is sharp.

I feel the same way. I just checked with my dealer yesterday and they are still saying April 20 for delivery. I'll just have to wait and see.

 

Kirby. I had requested info online and called and left a message. Then I thought, let’s check the Costco auto program. Figured they wouldn’t be able to do anything for a TRD Pro, but what the hell, right? Next thing I know Kirby is calling saying he’s got an LR allocation. I confirmed the color and put down some $ to hold. Couldn’t believe it went down that quick after all the time I put in looking for months...

 

Couldn't pass up a few photos on the salt flats. Then took her through a river for a good rinsing while headed to a hot spring. I love my truck so much, just about to hit 10k

Anyone had their LR wrapped in the Stealth/Matte Clear PPF? I got a quote and it was $7k... Nearly spit out my coffee.

Thinking I'll have to go with just the regular clear over the front facing bits. Are these trucks prone to rock chips? I come from the Subaru world, where if you blink the wrong way at the paint it chips.

 

Yes they chip very easy so do yourself a favor and don’t ride close to anyone. Also that’s a lot for a wrap. Especially the tundra don’t have all the body lines to deal with. I had my C7Z06 fully wrapped when I got it. But also had paint correction and ceramic coated. That total was 7000 but well worth it especially my Z is Black. But it looks bad.

 

Honestly I was expecting somewhere around $3-4K for a clear wrap. The $7k figure was terrifying. I've reached out to a couple other places, so hopefully someone comes in at a more reasonable level.

 

There's a lot of surface area on these. I'm in the process of quoting PPF to try and schedule before mine arrives. I think just in materials the whole front end was like $1,800 for Xpel film. I figured probably $2,250-2,500 total including labor just for the front end. I'm leaning towards just doing the vertical front-facing surfaces. Waiting for the quotes to trickle in.

 

Yeah they all seem to be around the same price. Don’t forget if it needs paint correction that’s extra. And usually it does if not if there are flaws in the paint you will see them thru the clear wrap.

 

It'll be fresh off the lot, factory white plastic still in tact. I don't anticipate much correction but it will definitely need some before wrapping. My thought on the matte finish would that it would negate the need for extensive correction prior to applying. Plus I thought the LR would look really good in a matte finish.

 

I’m thinking about the same way instead of the full truck. The front is what takes a beating on the truck. But get the front fenders and the whole hood.

 

You will be surprised how much paint correction needs to be done.

 

Just like everyone's story, I ordered back in October 2020 but missed the waiting list. Then I was told that Toyota stops painting on December and starts back in January. Then I was told February was the build date. Then got another email telling me that the chip manufacturer in Japan burned down so moved to March again. Finally it got built and I picked it up two weeks ago on March 17th.

Just talk to my Toyota guy. He said they are not taking any more orders for the pros. They’re struggling to get the ones out already ordered. They are not going to have a full production run. Did I mention my Luner rock Pro is going to be up for sale very soon?
I have the distinct impression that I’m gonna get a lot more this year for my truck then I did my army green last year. Good luck to you guys got orders out right now you should get your trucks.
He said there are no pros in the state of Texas I’m sure there’s some somewhere in the country though sitting on the ground good luck in your hunts

 

I seen one pop up near me yesterday in the Los Angeles area.

 

There may be a few around but there’s not very many they are truly like hens teeth
I’ve seen a bunch of ads for these trucks but I believe their bait and switch ads. Of course a car dealer would never do that
