Are the dealer sourced "TRD Performance Shocks" any better performers that the stock (non-TRD) factory shocks?

I've found plenty of information on this site regarding Bilstein (4600, 5100, 6112), Fox, etc., but nothing about the dealer sourced "TRD Performance Shocks".

Are they just not worth the time and effort?

If you're going to spend money on shocks go aftermarket.
What are your goals for upgrading the suspension? Are you looking for off-road or on-road performance?

    Primarily on-road.

I've already upgraded to the TRD front and rear sway bars which has firmed up the truck's ability to corner. But unfortunately they've pointed out the overall softness of the suspension and the tires.

If you look around you can probably find take off shocks from a truck with the sport or offroad package for super cheap. Either would be an improvement over the black shocks that come on stock tundras without the sport or off road package.

    Thanks! I'll do that.

In addition to the TRD shocks, I keep looking at the Bilstein shocks with the springs already installed. I'm figuring by the time you factor in the labor to disassemble and reassemble the OEM springs on to whatever shock...you may be money ahead with the Bilsteins.

Looks like I'm heading down the shock rabbit hole...wide open.
