Best practice is to give it constant power and use a vehicle battery discharge prevention device, such as the BlackVue Power Magic Pro.

Best Practice is a relative statement, I don't want my camera running 24x7, nor do I want my radar running 24x7. My dash cam is not for parking, it's for when I am driving the truck. (Different folks have different use cases)

I am with you. More interested in using while driving and not while parked. I like this option because if I upgrade to a dual camera later and want to have parking protection I can do so and just unplug this adapter.

Added TSS wheels and some new Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain’s 275/60/20. Also a couple of steel plates for some added protection for the cats.

Sawdust. Spread sawdust on the oil spill and let it sit for 24 hours, then sweep it up. Works great. And it's free from your workshop.

Hey everyone, first post, hello hello etc etc....
Thinking of buying a Crewmax but before I get too excited could someone measure how wide the back door is? I need to fit my dog kennel in with room to spare, so it needs to have at least 23" of space across...more would obviously be nicer.

One thing I learned from my Dad was to keep the sawdust around; a box or a big coffee can works fine. He had two 1LB cans under his table saw so it just fell in there. Little trick I've done ever since I had my own workshop.

Now that I think about it, it's exactly 36 years today I lost Dad. But I carry what he taught me through my life.

what kind of dog kennel? I have the Ruffland Kennel and it fits just fine. I went with the large size. Pup is just over 6 months old and already at 60+ lbs.

That's exactly the one, good to know! Lab?
Mines stabilized at around 80 lbs, for some reason he gets really anxious if I let him roam free in the cab, but in the kennel he just chills right out and goes to sleep.

    Thanks

yea you’re correct it’s not running while the car is off. I’ve heard the Garmin runs hot when in “parking mode” so it works out that I can’t use that feature

yea it’s the 12 pin. It took me only a few days to it. They randomly replenish inventory so I would give it a check every week.

What’s nice about the Garmin Mini is you can’t see it from inside the truck

Check the build link in my signature.
That’s your cruise control, green means it’s on, SET means you’ve set the speed. The little car icon above it means I’m using adaptive (radar) cruise control.
