The light bar cutout makes me cringe, not professional looking at all when you zoom in

 

He says he's willing to make any changes people want. Seems very willing to help and make the customer happy which is more than we can say for some of these companies.

He just sent this to me "The design of the bumper will definitely be a bit more refined when we get our plasma table. Right now I am cutting everything with a grinder. Holes and all"

 

You can see it was cut with a cutoff wheel on that one. Can see the overrun in the corners and the lines aren't completely straight. A waterjet would obviously make a nicer cut but would be $$$. These bumpers should probably reflect a lower end of the price point as a result. But being low volume would make that difficult also. It's a really good looking bumper, the kind of thing I'd like to fab up for my truck in the shop. Lots of competition in the $1000-$1400 range.

 

Ah, yes the plasma table will certainly make the cuts cleaner and more uniform. Should be a nice product. I'm glad that there are still people willing to support these older model Tundras. I like the lines of this bumper better than most.

 

I edited my post after talking to him further. He was unsure about pricing at first. He's hoping to get a Tundra for R&D so he can eventually offer other products.

Once he gets his plasma table the final product should look better.

 

That’s awesome he’s willing to be flexible with design requests.
If I were to get or design a front bumper for a winch, I’d want the mounting holes on the face of the bumper not parallel to the ground, I’ve read this is the best way to securely mount the winch, if you plan on using it.

 

You mean you want the holes mounted further down than mine? I just found out this guy is in Chattanooga, about 90 minutes from me. He just offered to build me a rear bumper if I'm willing to leave my truck a few days. I may do this.

 

So imagine how an over head gantry crane is mounted, the mounting holes/base are taking the load in the direction of the pull at a straight angle downwards.
I think besides ARB maybe, almost all bumper mount winches I’ve seen; mount the winch at a 90 degree in correlation with the pull direction. Hopefully that makes a little sense?

He's actually closer to you in Ringgold GA. He says they have made sliders for our trucks also.

I had been toying with the idea of a trip to South Carolina where bash fab is located

 

He said he would send me pictures of sliders. I'll give him a few days and follow up if I don't hear from him.

 

Brute Force Fab are bumper number 1. A lot of the holes and weird gaps are so you can get your hands and tools up into the mounting bolts for both a winch and for mounting to the frame rails. speaking of winches... I got a Warn EVO 10 with synthetic rope. downside of the bff bumper. I had to take it off to fit the winch into its spot. Otherwise install was super easy. Only other problem is that I had to take the control box off the top and its currently zip tied to a bracket but its got 4 m4 threaded bolt holes in the bottom of it so proper mounting shouldn't be to hard. Lights were also super easy to do as well, and the bumper stayed on . Especially since you can just splice them into the fog light wiring.

 

Ive seen some folks running an ARB bull bar bumper (not the Sahara) on their 1st gen. I’ve also seen threads saying the 06 DC is different than older 1st gens. I’m wondering if modifications or custom brackets are needed to make an ARB bumper fit a first gen and/or if it’s even an option for a 06 Limited DC. I’ve only seen them on older years.

 

ARBs on Double Cabs require some bracket modification, but it's not a big deal. I've seen them on two trucks in person and I think they look good.

No offense to anyone, but why would you not fill that crap cut in with weld and at least make it look decent? Is it too much to ask that you drill the corners before taking grandpa's 12" cut off wheel to it? It's one thing if it's for you. If you are trying to sell these.

If that's any indication if the attention to detail then... No comment. We are talking about first or second day of "make your own bumper" class.

Hi all, just joined and recently acquired a 2005 reg cab with ARB front bumper.

Looking forward to some more modest mods over the coming months, but possibly a rear bumper to match.

Just wanted a reliable truck for our small acreage and could not get past the capabilities of the gen 1, though hard to find in good shape where I live.

 

Good looking truck. I like the way the bumper and wheels go together.

Are there any skid plates for our rear diffs? It’s the lowest point and such an important part... only protection I’ve found has been a “universal” fit. Not even Skid Row has a diff plate

 

Tacoma/4runner armor may fit. They use the same R&P as the 1st gen.
