    Thanks Jim!
    Yessir...yours was the inspiration!

I’ve been waiting to do this project for a while, and I knew as part of it, I’d redo the skid....and it needed it. I originally painted it black and the TRD in Barcelona red.
The skid was chipped to hell and back.
I’m thinking some 2K clear may be in order this go around.

Total pain in the ass. Took about an hour and it still didn’t look great before I said f if and stuck the new ones on. That glue/residue was in there good. Blow dryer worked best. Goo gone no help. My thumb nails were fried afterwards.

after doing my own oil changes for year, finally had my first rookie mistake yesterday while chaning mine (70k mile oil change)

i dropped my hose running my fumoto valve into my jug of old oil. it's about a 5 gallon jug. i THOUGHT i had about 2 gallons of room. i apparently only had about 7 quarts of room left in the jug and overflowed about a quart of oil onto my garage floor.

I learned to drive in a 66 Dodge Monaco station wagon - not a small car - but decades of Subarus (and a Taurus and a Sable) have apparently let my skills in handling a large car atrophy.

I liked the first one enough to buy a second one. They hold a considerable amount, considering our trucks come with zero storage other than the case of beer holder between the front seats.

The picture above was after they just put the top on. They ended up using clams that go into the factory bed rails. Ill take a pic some time to show.

Happens to the best of us. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve heard pouring kitty litter over spilled oil works for cleaning it up.

i've heard the same. i need to just get some floor dry. none of my neighbors have cats or anything, so that option is out in terms of getting some from neighbors.

I can vouch for that, but you have to find the old fashioned clay-based kitty litter. That stuff works wonders. Just cover the spill and grind it in with your foot. Then sweep it up. You may have to do this a couple of times, and leave it sitting after grinding it in, but it gets that vast majority of the oil up, especially if you can do it soon after the spill.
