Nice work! Those springs look quality and the keepers way better than the OEM Crap Clamps that like to splay. These are the route I’m going when needed! Hows the ride?

Just a heads up: I was reading on the Sumos the other day and since you are still in test mode you may find that you could remove them before putting on the Sway Bar. Reason I say this is some reviews say the Sumos negate the Sway Bar Capabilities/Attributes. Your new stout leaf springs should allow the removal of them if you want, but its your truck. You may already have considered it.

The heavy duty set for the 2WD costs more than the heavy duty for the 4WD, go figure. My total was 631.78 delivered to my door. That was $239.89 each for the springs, $50 for the longer U-bolts and 2 spring eye bolts, and $102 for delivery. The heavy duty springs for the 4WD are 189.99 each. So figure about $100 less for everything for 4WD Tundras.

No mileage yet, I parked her after the work and haven't even test driven it yet. I will update once I get some miles on the setup.

Hmmm, interesting on the Sumo/Timbren. I guess I could easily remove them if it hinders anything. It will be awhile before I can get enough usage to be able to decide if I should remove them or not.

I actually kinda like the silver on grey look. Best part is I got it loaded onto my truck for 180$!!!

Looks great. Does it have a front window? I've never really seen a need for a cab to shell boot with mine. I've replaced struts a few times and have found that 40 lb struts do a good job of keeping the back glass popped up. Pop one of the old ones off and measure collapsed and extended length then you can get any general strut with 10mm ball sockets.

I'm in the market for windoors on my Leer. The Tacoma's Snug Top has them and they're soo convenient. I have a feeling that windoors are something that are only easy to get through dealers. You might be able to add screens to those sliding windows. I had to buy more .09" spline the last time I rescreened mine.

Oh and paint dem mirrors!

 

I don't ever plan to run a topper so I wonder if it's worth the money to get the replacement leafs instead of the HD version....would be $125 vs $189 a side so some savings there.

 

It does have a front window that slides and also folds down into the bed.
No struts currently on it, so I have a feeling I’m going to be bothering the local dealer this week for lots of info, and I’m sure the dealers are the only place to get the windoors, but guy said I can easily pull the frame out and take to a glass shop to measure and make one; but all the seals and sliders look like junk, so I’d rather go new. Momma bear gave me the green light on a newer/nicer one, so I can trick this one out pretty well with the leftover money she thinks a newer one costs!
I thought the boys were gonna be mad they can’t get into the bed from the sliders onto the tire into the bed, but they were stoked for the camper and to climb in thru the rear!

Yeah, I agree that it makes sense to buy new on the windoors rather than go custom. I see a headache and not much money saving by having a glass shop make one. I've seen some windoors that have small sliding windows built in, that's what I'm hoping to get from a dealer.

The front window along with the roll-down back window on our trucks is so neat.

I’ve been trying to find a leer dealer who will even sell me windoors for mine. May have to go to leer directly (they’re not far from me) I’d love to have windoors on mine with sliders

No cab boot. Just open like the taco. Cab boot for yours would make sense since you have a full roll down window and your cap front window flips down

 

Can I basically go out and lift the window, and then measure 19” or whatever those you linked, and see if that raises it high enough?
I also noticed one of the 10mm balls was loose on the cap itself, I couldn’t tighten it by turning it, not sure if I need to try harder, or get some epoxy

 

I'm not sure if they were a factory option back in 2010. The dealer that installed mine went out out of business a few years back so I have to find a new one. If you do try going directly to Leer let me know if you have any success.

All the other Leer components have held up very nicely and it is "luxurious" for what it is. I'd trust a windoor they make to not be janky.

The factory Snug Top windoors on the Tacoma are also of good quality.

Do that, also get inside, close the back window and measure what should be the collapsed length of the strut. If you get the incorrect collapsed length that will tweak the glass.

 

Also does the front window only flip down or does it come out completely? Mine comes out but I have to work it a certain way.

 

I didn’t get that far, but I assume it flips down and would then pop out,off?

 

I tilt mine 45 degrees, it slides to the right (I think?) off the hinges and I can work it out.

 

Today turned out to be a heck of a day. Was supposed to be a simple oil change and tire rotation, but it spiraled quite quickly.

first off, my new used oil catch pan didn’t work right and over flowed all over the driveway. I got the rest of the change done without issue.

next, I started with the tire rotation. Jack right side up, remove front wheel, set it aside, remove rear wheel, reinstall on front. I figured since I was this far, I’d pull my drum and make sure my brakes were adjusted correctly. Got the drum off, and discovered this. F***!!! Brand new brake drums too. Less than 15k on them. whatever, nothing I can do about it now.



so I moved along to the other side. Jack up left side, remove front tire, bring it over to the right rear, install there. Removed the left rear, and went to install it on the left front. I noticed a lot of grease everywhere. Uh oh....



You guessed it. CV boot blew off. Freakin A! These CVJ axles aren’t even a year old! So I ran to orielys and grabbed some CV grease and a hose clamp, because no way in hell am I fighting with a stupid ass CV clamp. Those things are the devil. New clamp clears by two hairs.




After I got all the wheels and tires back on, I figure I may as well make a day of it, and changed the flex hoses for the transmission cooler lines that have been seeping and I didn’t feel like dealing with in the middle of a Minnesota Winter.




Some days I really hate this stupid, rotten, clapped out piece of sh**.

Bummer man. At least you fixed two of the three things. The New Oil Seal Replace is fairly easy if you use Toy Seals. Just a heads up the PB adjustment cable goes under the bracket inside the drum area.

Nice! I searched around with the brand and what I was looking for and found a bunch of stuff. Mine needs a stop light and I found those on Amazon.

@Emptypockets have you tried a century dealer? The one I worked at did a bunch of windows and such. If I recall many windows may fit different shell brands.

Took my kid up on the hillside. Upper uniballs need replacing and my steering rack needs it too. Strangely the ball joints still feel tight.
