I went ahead and ordered a new Pro at sticker without addressing my trade-in with the dealer. when i go to pickup the new Pro I know they are going to low-ball me on my trade. 2017 MG CM TRD Off Road 25k miles clean carfax, very good condition. What do you all think is a fair price?

I'm prepared to buy the Pro outright and sell mine on the resale market if they won't give me a fair price on the trade.

    Thoughts? I'm thinking $35k.

Go to Carmax you’ll have an offer in 5 minutes by putting your VIN in. Print out the trade in offer and use it to negotiate with the dealer. I just did this to buy my wife a new Jeep and it worked perfectly.

When selling outside the dealer, you will have to calculate what tax benefits may arise from trading in where you are buying. In my state, if I trade in to the dealer, that offsets the purchase price and I don't get boned as hard on taxes. Would be good to have the Carvana, Vroom and Carmax offers in hand before going to the dealer. That way if they are way off base you can throw down the papers to show other offers on trade in.

great advice guys, thank you. carvana offer was 35.9k. carmax was 36k. i'll save about 2k in NYS taxes on the trade so i'll be OK with 34k trade-in credit.

why not list yourself for $39900 and see if it sales before your new one arrives? If not trade in.
