How about all the people that say "I could care less"...

It should be "couldn't care less". The idea being that you care so little, that you couldn't possibly care any less.

That would be spoken correctly as regardless vs irregardless which is a double negative.

There's enough critical / abstract thinkers here to replace the current government regime.

This made my blood boil when the mayor of DC actually blamed this poor driver for not protecting his car well enough from being carjacked.

My God, that's a visual that hurts the eyes and burns the brain.
On top of that, lots of years of riding like that will show up in the hospital as prostrate issues i'm betting.

“Well, that may or may not be the case”

This phrase means absolutely nothing, but people use it to try to look smart. As if there’s some third possibility you’re ruling out?!

I agree 100%. After Hurricane Katrina, I had hundreds of trees down. I cut the good ones into logs and stacked them to sell to a lumber mill for lumber. I had arranged with a contractor to pick them up and deliver them to the mill. He no-showed - more than once. Then he stopped answering my calls after lying to me several times about coming to pick them up. I set up Windows 95 to send a blank page fax to his cell phone number every two minutes. He called me back after just a few hours. I didn't use him, and didn't pay him anything. It was just the principle of the COURTESY of calling back. I told him to TELL ME if he didn't want the work and DO NOT LIE to me.

This happened to me a couple months ago. We emailed back and forth a few times. He never showed up to give me an estimate and stopped responding to my emails. A couple months later I got a performance survey from his company. They wanted to know how my experience was working with them. I filled out the survey and added to the comments “You never showed up. How can I review your performance if you never show up?”

All I got was an automated reply “Thanks for taking the time to fill out the survey. Be sure to leave a Google review for us if you wouldn’t mind. Every little bit helps!”

Well they got started today. He called me first thing 8 am today, said he got busy yesterday. "So was I, that's why I needed an answer.". Half his crew is no show, he's pissed about that but he's gitn'er done.
I told him, I know you all are busy and you can take or leave a job but just communicate, even if it's a 2 word text to acknowledge a message will go a long way.

There is currently an insanely high demand for contractor work around here. There's more work than can be done, and it seems they can't bid too high for a project. Seems they've all gotten lazy getting back to people.

There's great work, a fair price, and finishing the job quickly. Pick two.

The first 2. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'm fine with waiting if the work will hold up, and if I'm not hemorrhaging dollars for it.

Sometimes I’d rather pay a bit extra to get great work done quickly.

The real red flag is if it’s fast and cheap. I don’t ever go there.
