Fitted a fridge today, never really liked the idea of completely removing the rear seat; so I did some retrofitting and I managed to save part of the seat :).

I'm somewhat OCD, so I sketched my idea ahead of the build; it helps visualizing things ahead of time and make all major corrections.

    kifaru-dometic.jpg

    Outcome:

    Magnetic Latch

Restrainers - Most likely I will change these, I dont really like the sharp edges.

    Adjustable Pogs

Storage Space - Needed to elevate the fridge to clear the seat, hence fridge essentials storage space - not wrapped.

    The Fridge

Next on the list, Water tank.

Enough for 3 People, not necessarily drinking water but just water for who knows what, shower, cleaning, etc.

    Sketch:
    kifaru-pvc water tank.jpg

Will post pictures of the complete build and challenges latter on.

    PVC Parts Are in:
It was unbelievably challenging finding the 6" PVC parts for this build, they were also ridiculously expensive, I might be overshooting my forecasted budget of $250.

    Assembly & Gluing
    IMG_3790.jpg

Pressure relieve valve + Pressurizing Stem valve
    IMG_3777.jpg

Obviously not for pressure but 30PSI wont damage a thing.

    Test Fit on the bed

Now that the off-grid 55L tank is complete, it is time for some testing.

Below are some of the videos.

Tank filling and Air/ Pressure Relieve Valve (PRV) testing - Residential pressure ~30 - 45PSI

PRV at work set at ~10PSI

Tested at 15PSI - full ramp when glue completely cures.

Roughly, $250 - materials only, exclusive of the tools and time.

    Best,

Few weeks ago, I pulled a trigger and decided to try U-Pol Raptor Black Urethane spray-on and below are the results and how I did it.

PS: you may have to break a neck to properly view other images.

Depending when you will be reading these instructions however I found out following these lead to great results.

Follow these instructions at your own RISK! i wont be liable if you screw things up.

    1. Protect your eyes, lungs, and skin by using your commonsense - please ask if you do not know how.
    2. Using 60-100 rating sand paper; sand down truck-bed to remove all clear coat, some paint may chip out too do not freak out but make sure to sand everything and everywhere even the hard to reach corners.
    3. Once sanding is done, clean bed with water and de-greaser to remove all dirt and oil
    4. Let it air dry. If the sun is out, I found out that hot liner makes better outcome, if not wait for it to dry. I see other people using dry cloth and get "some" results.
    5. Tape corners/ edges, remove stoppers or plastics that you do not want paint to be applied to, cover areas you do not want the paint to spill, and make sure you protect other body panels. *CRITICAL STEP
    6. Open lid and Mix RAPTOR as instructed by the vendor 8ounce/ bottle.
    7. Place the lid back and shake well (about 45sec/ until you are satisfied with the mix)
    8. At 50-60PSI (regulate air pressure as needed) connect your air-hose onto the spray gun provided in a kit
    9. Starting from the front of the bed closer to the cabin, spray in sweeping motion - monitor the amount of paint that is being applied, you may need to consider applying more on the floor as this part of the vehicle makes frequently contact with the load. Also consider applying on other areas that you think may get similar abuse.
    0. You bought 4 bottles, so why not use all, keep repeating step 5-8 until you are satisfied with the results; maintain your focus on those areas that gets abused the most.
    1. Once satisfied with paint application, remove all protective covers from step #5 and let the paint settles.
    2. Enjoy your favorite drink and wait for the results.
    3. DO NOT RUSH, let the paint cure for the longest period if possible - i do not think there is a problem leaving the truck outside while paint cures or painting outside. - I used my garage as a painting booth.

Caution: do not walk over the wet area, do not spray else-where it will take the entire village to remove it. if you accidentally spray elsewhere make an effort to clean the stain quickly. Also do not over-tighten the bottle to the spray-gun.

Hope my instructions are not confusing.

    Good luck.
    hefemi.

Added Leitner Active Cargo Classic Design w/ Pods: I drove about 1600miles to Mississippi for this, someone from this forum was selling the entire set up so I found the excuse to burn gas.

    Thank you.

its a trait, a little story - So back home I own a Toyota, they call them Hilux - My dad passed down to me - it really is a vintage truck! very reliable. I haul stuff with it, town stuff with it, go shopping with it, party with it, pick up a girlfriend with it, camping with it, travelling with it, sleep in it, I mean almost everything :D

    Kifaru - Vintage.jpgKifaru - Toyota 2.jpg

Everyone drives it, learn to drive in it - Rarely breaks down.

I expect the same for the Tundra.

    Best,

    Firestone Air Rite - Installed

Added Firestone Air Rite - Pretty Straight Forward Application

Installed, testing for leak - Nervously Pressurize to 70PSI

    Pretty level at 15PSI, but after the RTT i may have to up the pressure to 20PSI;

This tire is quite big, looks small on the truck though - Will be getting rid of this set soon. - I need 18'ns

    IMG_4160.jpg IMG_4179.jpg

Drove around the neighborhood but I couldn't gauge if there was a change is dynamic of the vehicle, it could be because of my prolonged absence on the driver seat.

    Best,
    hefemi.

I planned this mod immediately after seeing how my tires stick out and finally I was able to save my body panels and add Fender Flares - BW OEM

They provide decent tire coverage - takes care of those chips.

I wanted to retain my mud flaps and they did just that. I also like the black finish I hope they stay like that forever.

May go after I change my tire set up.

    Best,
    hefemi.

I needed my floor space in the Garage - My mission was to create space and also think of the ability to be able to load the RTT on and off the rack.

    Hence RTT Nest.

    Design Phase:

    Application Phase:

    Cost:
    $220

    I like the outcome.

This system is pretty solid for what I intended to do.

My entire RTT set up including bedding and solar panels weighs on low 180's and everything here is rated on or above 220lb.

New Challenge: I cant drive off the garage door with RTT mounted :(, effing lift. I need to rethink this whole Idea and figure out a game-plan to re-engineer this issue.

    Best,
    hefemi.

Cool build, welcome from Houston! Off topic but I noticed a Burgess sticker on your electrical panel...Happen to have a Highland or Perry built home? I used to be a Project Manager for Highland, your neighborhood looks a little familiar from the pictures.

Thanks man - I'm trying to get out there more-reliably and enjoy the sun.

My house was built by Coventry Homes - though there are Perry and Highland homes around the community.

you have a nice rig too.

how much clearance do you need?
You could always deflate your tires if it is only a few inches...

    ARB Twin Compressor Install

Compressor Mount, ordered from Bannock452 and ARB Twin Compressor Kit from Amazon shipping was fast.

Ruined the Aluminum finish with black - could have powder coated but meh, I was not patient.

    Installed on the mount

Then mounted on the truck. Deflated my tire to 10PSI then 2mins later I was back up at 40PSI

I'm thinking of routing my air supply to where I wont have to pop the hood every time I want to use the air system.

Sneak Peak of my next nerve wrecking install.

Picked up a bunch of parts and installed them last Friday and below is the outcome of my countless hours of fitting and wiring impossible electrical routes.

Enjoy this look for the last time.

ARB Summit Bumper & Warn Winch Install

Druuuuum Rolls: Presenting to you Kifaru in Higher Definition!

I'm very happy with the results.

I need bigger wheels and upgraded suspensions.

ARB Summit Bumper was PITA installing, a lot of cutting to fit - if you are not comfortable cutting panel this is not a bumper for you - however the outcome is outstanding - so many great feedback from the neighbors as well as random strangers.

I choose ARB Summit - Because it is the best :)

Its almost time to get Dirty!

    Best,
    hefemi.

I had 1hr that I needed to kill, hence Rago Fab. - Dash Kit

Since Rago does not send you the bot. mounting plate I used left overs from Auxbeam 8gang Switch plate and screwed at the bottom for added support and worked flawlessly.

Drilled 1 hole to allow Aux cable to go through - Charging and Data.

When setting up dash plate to mark holes - make sure to push the mounting plate all the way back further from you, otherwise your plate is going to protrude a bit towards you.

Flash along the dash and I'm loving it. The iPad mini is rock solid.

We all know what happens when you mount your phone on the dash and then an anticipated phone call rings. Nope I don't take any chances.

    I did.

24HRS in the garage, this bumper kicked my ass - only to find out I need to remove it because my winch is not working as it should!.

WARN is sending me a replacement winch here shortly.

is your rear bumper compatible with BSM?

I’m looking into-replacing mine, just for the look.

    best,
    hefemi.
