Well that sucks Mike, I saw what you posted on your IG story. @eccracer104 Glad they were able to walk away.
A friend of mine with a 1st gen Tundra had a similar LCA issue a couple years ago. Luckily he saw it before it completely let go. Both of his LCA’s were ripping apart right by the rivets.

Yes, very glad they both walked away from that!

Yikes... bummer to hear this may not be an isolated issue. Makes long travel look more like a safety upgrade rather than performance!
He said he’d been asking Solo to make stock length lowers for him, but they hadn’t gotten to it. He has their spindles, uniball lower conversion, and helmed steering. Wouldn’t be in the position he is now had there been a stock length lower option (or gone LT).

Yep, I wish there was another option for stock length lower arms because I would totally buy them. I went with brand new OEM lower arms because I didn't want to deal with my old bushings. Kinda glad I went with new arms instead of just bushings after hearing this.

Damn! I’m very relieved those friends walked away from that!! Getting seriously hurt way out there would be no bueno. I’m feeling extra lucky that when my similar failure happened, we were </~ 25mph and turning— basically the wheel/ tire cracked the firewall, and the truck kinda fell to rest on the wheel/tire. The day Hulk suddenly turned back into Bruce Banner then morphed into Phteven:
    upload_2021-3-22_15-21-46.jpg

Even long travel can fail, as shown above. There’s still a weak spot where 4 bolts hold the lower ball joint. I think one of the bolts was loose, leading to vibration which eventually sheered the remaining bolts. We checked for two days trying to find the source of vibration that was clearly associated with speed. Grateful it didn’t fail at higher speeds. Now I truly appreciate my good fortune.

I also heard Solo is developing a heavy duty replacement for this, and I’m standing by with my penny bank, eager to pay.

Ouchie. Yeah, those LBJ bolts get checked regularly and are marked with crayon.

I was running about 17 PSI so I kinda was asking for it.

I usually drop to around 20ish, but went lower this weekend because of how soft it was.

Glad you had fun and made it out okay! Little mistakes like these are fun because you come out of it with a lesson learned (maybe) and a story to tell.

You can also take the Toyota jack and put the truck's weight on it, then use a shovel to dig out the soil from around the tire.

I always creep on this thread. I’m finally gonna post something. Where’s all the Poppies? No rain, no Poppies this year I guess. They’re a month late, this area is usually packed with them by now. BACCDBC8-8F3C-49F0-A769-0CA7288DCED1.jpg

I wouldn't, depending on the shot you are getting. I had no reaction to the first shot, but my 2nd was at 9 am a couple Saturdays ago. I was fine until around 6pm when i started get dizziness and fog, then i was down for 2 day. lol

my nurse advised I would have symptoms but not as bad as the first time since I already had COVID. First shot was just soreness at the injection.
