If you watch it will be double, I did this ridiculous hand yoga move as I was doing my motor mounts. The bolts came from underneath(mind you this is one handed thru the front hole one you remove the fender skirt, passenger side) I held the bolt with my pinky, as I handed/fingered the nut to my pointer and middle finger, which landed the nut on the inverted bolt which I then did a switch a roo and finished tightening with thumb and forefinger....... I had to take a water sprits after that!!! Still haven’t come up with a name for that move yet.....

I didn’t know they made a TRD rear sway bar for the first gen. Nice!

Changed passenger side valve cover gasket, replaced PS ignition coils & spark plugs.

Spent so much time cleaning... I feel these sparks plugs alone should improve the overall performance compared to what was in there...

When I was puttsing around with headers, I decided to stick my fingers on a valve cover bolt, to my surprise, I loosened it with ease!!! Haha next project is torquing all those bad boys down!!!

All mine were really loose. I don’t think they’re supposed to be torqued down much.

Where does one jack up the engine without crushing the oil pan? I haven't studied it that closely. Is there a flat spot to put the jack?

Surprisingly the pan is pretty strong, just don’t let your wood block smash the drain plug and your good to go

Forgot to post this yesterday. Added seafoam to crank case and went for a quick 15 mile circle around the county on the back roads to really werk it good before oil change. I just wanted an excuse to drive it. :D

Haha I was so twitterpayted I forgot how to use my phone!
Letting the paint dry, then back up under the truck, and do the “test pipes” then it’s time to go rip it!

Looking to add audio controls to my steering wheel on the 05 DC. Finally managed to score a reasonably priced airbag cover (with airbag). It was guaranteed to be free of recall, but I still may swap the cover on to my existing airbag. Still waiting on the switches.

Anyhow, I’m looking for any info that you all might be able to shed as to how to wire the switches into the stereo. I have an aftermarket stereo and don’t recall seeing extra wires when I installed it. @empty_lord Ive seen you refer in a few posts about “running a few wires” if I remember correctly. Could you share any insight?

I’ll do a little write up when I get this done to help anyone in the future that might want to do the same.

Also looking for a perforated leather wrap kit for the wheel. Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

90% sure your tundra will be wired already for the switches. Likely won’t have to run anything, ID you did it’s 3 wires from
The junction connector on the passenger side under the radio.

It won’t be. I did this back when I first got my truck. The new controls will plug directly into the clock spring but you need to run 3 wires over to the radio from the back of the spring.

At the time I was doing car audio so I had access to AllData. I can’t tell you much about where the wires plug in spring side. But I can tell you that I took this picture of the back of my radio when I was replacing it. The wire colors are arbitrary because they were just what I had lying around.

I know it’s not a lot of help but I bet you can cross reference the pin locations with whatever the new Metra steering wheel control adapter is and it will get you pretty close.

Yours wasn’t wired to the clock spring? Access and regular cabs are unless they’re V6.

all I had to wire was the radio harness itself

Nope, those wires that you see plug into the back of my clock spring. Also, there was no harness to plug into my radio with those wires in it or I wouldn’t have needed to plug those pins into the radio.

These, but male, are the only two harnesses located behind my radio. Obviously, non JBL.

Interesting. Reg and access cabs have a radio harness that connects down by the passenger side of the center console area.
