Just parked the truck after running a few errands and when I went to lock the truck I got nothing. Put the key in the ignition and same. Battery is reading 13v across the post and 12v to ground. Any ideas?

Turn the key on, and then use your voltmeter to measure between the negative post and a body ground, like one of the unpainted headlight mounting bolts.

Also measure across the battery posts with the key in the on position.

About what you want to see, but if it’s still working at this time you should get good readings. Wiggle that body ground cable on the inner fender, make sure the bolt is tight, and your battery post clamps are tight and corrosion free.

If all good there, have that battery load tested ASAP.

Very interestingly I had the exact (and I mean exact) same thing happen to my first Gen. however one of my battery terminals had come loose causing me to it have power. To make a long story short it was my alternator. My truck had good battery juice and then would start and then die. Eventually I had zero battery too.
