Quick question here as im sure this comes up often, I do not see my base stock tune listed for my ECU ID on my 2008. Would this imply I dont have the latest TSB or my ECU needs to be added to support list ?

I purchased the software bundle, waiting on my tune pack to arrive any day now.

I just tried flashing and get "Communication/ECM Error ERROR UNLOCK INVALID". This is after it says "KEY authorization success". Anyone else had this happen and know what I'm doing wrong?

Make sure you are using 1.2.9.9.2 and also make sure the file you're trying to flash matches your trucks ECU ID

Yea, ID is 3YWF3400 and Calibration ID is 3YWF3400. Version 1.2.9.9.2, drivers are updated too. I had a slightly tweaked file I first tried, then tried the file the "stock" file that comes with VFT and same thing happens with both. When I try to start the truck it does the usual gurgle on first try, then fires up on second try like the ECM got reset. Computer has internet access when I try too.

I have the exact same scenario. I don't know if you are already aware of this after our trial and error session a short while ago (9 March). I will send what is an almost identical screenshot to Zendesk.

Thanks for that. I am upgrading from OCM51 to OCM52. First time starting truck it actually died right away. Waited a couple seconds then it started up. Let it run for a few seconds and shut it down. I'll take it for a test drive here shortly.

That start and die is normal. Oftentimes the idle will be really low as well then will increase after running for 5-10 minutes.

If I want to go back to OCM51 for any reason, how would I do that? Do I have to now unlock the OCM51 file?

I suppose you could just try to flash it, if you're not allowed to go back to it I would imagine that the software wouldn't flash it.

You cannot revert the ecu to a previous version. You can only flash different tunes of that same ecu ID (including stock)

But there was this↓ comment that may make that particular ECU an exception?

Yes. My question remains - Do I need to unlock the OCM51 to do this? I unlocked "OCM52 Upgrade" to gain access to that file. What's kinda throwing me is that the actual file that was uploaded is OCM51... . Anyway, just looking for some clarification before I start doing trial and error, and spending points. Thanks.

Personally, what I might try to do would be to see what happens when you try to select (Select Calibration File) the 0CM51 file without burning credits (unlocking).

Hypothetically, it may be that the changes from 51-52 were so minor that Mat was able to "port/transfer" them over from 52 to 51 without technically changing the ECU ID. That may explain why he's said that you could "go back". Maybe he's essentially renamed 51 to 52 to keep track of the changes in his mind because they were so minor. It's possible that he could've renamed it "51b" or some such, but wanted to try to avoid confusion and a flood of questions among users by calling it 52 because that's basically what it is in the code and it mitigates the entire "upgrading your ECU ID" process. Just my thoughts though, I'm not trying to claim that it would be that straightforward or to assume that's Mat's process/solution.

True. Hoping Mat would chime in with a definitive answer, but may try your suggestion. Much appreciated.

Ya, but who knows what other fires he's probably trying to put out. For example, it looks like some 07-13 ECUs aren't playing nice with the software that he may be prioritizing, or even something pertaining to a different vehicle model.

Yes just flash the 0CM51 file.

So with our tundra software, we are making *backwards* compatible upgrade cals, which means you can go back to the previous version if you want to.

For example 0CM51 - select 0CM52 upgrade - and you are backwards compatible now.

Same with 0CL43 (being added) to 0CL44
    Etc etc

Important to know that to retain backwards compatibility you must select the "upgrade" file.

This will be covered in our new instructions

Thanks, Mat. Which file should I make changes to when I start making changes to the ECU (eg, OCM52 Upgrade or OCM52)? Thanks.

    Mat,

When using the Toyota Flash Tool to flash a Tundra ECU (in my case, a 0CP50) tune, does the tool automatically reset the TCU adaptation values, and thus is it possible to receive some rough shifting as the truck relearns its values?

It resets fuel trims, and other stored / learn values yes.

Also, vF Tuner 1.2.9.9.3 releases tomorrow, support for 0CL43 added, among other things.

    still working on obtaining 0CA33.

Crazy that there are still more dang calibrations out there. Never ending!? supply of new IDs....

Hey Mat, Will any of these releases have any tune packs available for the 2019 Toyota Tundra FFV 3URFBE? Do I need to send anything to you or to Zendesk about
Direct shift and gear lock?map switching?
