While I was mocking up some exhaust pieces this morning I saw my neighbor ride by on his bicycle and yelled what’s up, he pulled in and asked what I was doing; he’s the one that loves when I make loud noises on the weekend and such and actually doing stuff to my house not hiring someone. He sounded excited to hear the open header start up!
He came walking back 20 mins later with both hands full, he had a rake and a different trench shovel; delivered, do you want either of these, he said? I acted koi and said I’d take the rake(I broke my handle on mine months ago) and couldn’t pass up a shovel I don’t own two of. @Professional Hand Model this might have been better than a curb side find for me today!

 

Truck running better or feel the same? Nice on the light/code elimination!

 

Butt dyno says slightly better. Feels slightly more "right" if that makes any sense?

 

285/70/17. The Cooper ATP that I had on there were the same size but these are considerably larger.

Edit: I feel like I should mention that they are the E range. For some odd reason, every single resource lists the E range Wildpeaks as being 6lbs lighter than the C’s.

OME 2885s w/ Nitrochargers all around, Wheelers Progressive AAL / Firestone RideRite Airbags, SPC Uppers, Method 701 16x8 and 285/75R16 Toyo Open Country AT IIIs.

I also changed out the LCAs, CVs, swaybar links...

 

They look good. I forget, are you running spacers cause these look pretty darn good as far as poke goes. Any profile shot?

 

Correct, I am running Spidertrax 1.25”spacers front and rear. I’ll try to get a side shot tomorrow. These tires sit almost dead flush with the flares due to that huge tread bump on the sidewall.

I am almost certainly going to have to get out the BFH tomorrow too. I’m getting some gnarly rubbage.

 

I have the same spacers but still in the boxes as they are too much with my 20” wheels currently. A side shot would be lovely if you have the time please.

 

I'm getting a squealing from my engine when I turn the wheels, sometimes when just turning them or when I turn them all the way to full lock and Im thinking I should replace my serpentine belt. Would this be a good thing to do to fix a steering squeal? My power steering fluid looks clean and everything functions fine, im just getting the noise here and there.

It only happens when Im going at slow speeds and Im guessing theres extra strain on the steering at that time.

Looking at OEM parts it looks like its called V- belt? Ive just started researching this so dont know much about what im talking about but figured Id ask you guys. Also, is this a relatively easy job to do? Thanks!

 

Serp, idler and tensioner if your in there, which requires a bit work but worth it

 

Going to do this to mine soon. Getting a little screech when I do an aggressive take off.

 

Ya - learned the hard way that these are now maintenance items when the old F250 started making a horrible noise. Stopped to pop the hood an noticed that the idler bearing seized. Luckily it actually snapped the pulley so the belt was turning the remaining piece of the pulley around the old bearing center.

Lots of sparks, turns out you can't run idlers/tensioners/belt for > 16 years.

Now this is on my list for the Tundra - I know the belts been changed but I think all the other parts are original.

 

When engine overhaul happens I plan on replacing idler bearings and other spinny things. Using cruise control truck will rev right up to 5k rpm (Edit: on hills when i forget to turn it off before hill.) Screeches like two cats fucking in a dumpster at 4,200 rpm

 

I highly recco the Green Gates HD Belt. Stout at almost twice the weight as my fairly newer 2 year old Continental Belt by Goodyears.

 

Thanks for the heads up, Im guessing i should get OEM for all those parts except the green gates belt that was recommended by PHM?

Yeah. Since the Timing Belt Job, I discovered a few Rusty Nuts. Been working them aggressively with 3in1 Oil. Improving!

 

Yeah. Thats a New Toy OEM Hose. Got some Crankle going on with it.

Bottom Lower Hose looks even worse in pics, but to the eye looks normal.

 

I highlighted newt. Hose was good contrast for shitey mouse type.

 

Rounded newt. Least you still got yours.

I know a fella with one newt. He adorned himself with a new nickname I can't say publicly.

 

Would I need the timing belt parts?: Engine Timing Belt Idler, Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley, Engine Timing Belt Tensioner

Ive had the timing belt replaced, but are these the parts recommended to replace for the Serpentine belt replacement? I wasnt able to find the Green Gates HD belt.

 

No need for TB parts although your job will be halfway there. I got the GatesHD from a site thats too big and needs broken up.

All other parts I procured via local stealer parts programme. The Acc. Belt Tensioner is a newer design (just a heads up). Didn’t click your links, but you need the Accessory Belt Tensioner (not Timing Belt), Idler Pulley, and most important (IMO) the Fan Clutch Pulley. Mine was grindy and had a cold morning chirp.

Might as well put on a new Fan Clutch, as well. My new one pulls so much more air and works like new again.

Yeah. I’ve been sending hidden signals around here and I think they are on to me. Might need to go into the Marbles Protection Programme soon.

 

I see the gates belt in the parts list on the bottom of this forum page. It says micro V belt. Is that the correct belt?

 

Yes. Now I know Smart Dust is real. This guy was telling me about it a few weeks ago.
