Oh nice. I'm in the South Bay a lot for work and at my GF's house. Hoping to see your truck sometime.

I bought mine towards early November and finding a lunar rock was tough. Either they had already been sold before they even made it to the dealer or they wanted to charge a mark up. It took me about two weeks to find one under MSRP.

I saw an article where Toyota decided to reduce the number of Tundra's they were making to keep making Tacoma's earlier this year due to the chip shortage. I would assume that's why it's harder to find any LRs now

That’s hard to believe your dealer would say 4 to 8 months. I’m wait on my LunaRock Pro for about a month when I was able to nab one up. My built date Mar29 and due to be in end of April. My local dealership where I have got all my Pros they could not get me any color. My salesman told me Toyota told his manager he cannot order any 2021 tundra pros. He said I would need to put my name on a 2022. I said no thank you for the V6 turbo.

Yea 4-8 months as of today. I think today was the day they stopped allocations. I'm fine without I suppose. I have a 2019 limited with better suspension than a pro now anyhow... just love that color and the overall resale value of the pros.

I added the new Eibach springs to my 2020 AG 4runner Pro so I could run 285’s. But I’m trading that in. And I have no intention in adding anything to my Pro suspension when I get it. Maybe down the road with the westcott kit. But I think the tundra Pro looks awesome the way it is. Maybe just add a bigger tire if that. But then again I’m leaving it stock for now .

There is untamed on you tube I follow. He paid 55000 for his LunaRock tundra pro. Has 5000 miles on it. He decided to sell it and has a guy coming for it. Sold it for 61,500.

Plus whatever he would've paid in sales tax and registration, so it was probably wasn't even a breakeven proposition. Still crazy to think that can happen and even crazier that there is someone willing to pay $61.5K for a used truck that sold new for $55k like 6 months prior and is still in production. The money vs. brains debate continues...

I've had two 60k+ offers, both saying they didn't want to wait and that they weren't guaranteed to get one. So glad I was the first to show up at the dealer, beating 7 other potential buyers.

Yes he does. But he is also getting that money back. What’s also is great for us Pro owners it’s nice to have a vehicle that does not depreciate so as you drive it off the lot which 99.9 percent of vehicles do.

Yup, that was me but they wouldn't take a deposit over the phone lol Glad it worked out in the end for both of us.

@V10Ace I just saw your profile says you're in Salem, OR. Did you get yours from Capitol Toyota? If so that was the one I was initially going to buy. We had agreed on a price and everything then the sales person I was talking to went dark on me. I reach out and nothing. Then I found mine and put a deposit on it, then a couple days later a different sales person called me and asked if I was still interested on finalizing that deal.

Wow. Random people have asked me twice if I would be willing to sell mine. I said no and no numbers were thrown out but I think if I got offered 60K+ I's consider selling.

Not selling mine. I've got too much in mods into it and LOVE the truck. I keep my rigs for too long to justify flipping it.

I did get mine from Capitol back in October. With all of us buying the same truck before others on this forum it kinda goes to show how rare they are still

You all realize all the talk of "allocation" and "ordering" varies by region right ?

Toyota does not operate as a single entity in the US/Canada. Someone more experienced can chime in with the total number of distributors and if all are independent or if some are directly controlled by Toyota - but for example, I know SE US is different than Central Midwest.

SE is independent distributor who orders from Toyota and then in turn distributes and allocates to the dealers on their territory. So when a dealer request a unit - they do so from the distributor and NOT Toyota corporate.

A distributor in one part of the country may have excess units - while one in another may have "sold out". Its common for distributors/dealers within the same territory to "swap" inventory/allotments. Sometimes the distributor facilitates this - sometimes its the dealership GMs directly.

Despite knowing this already, I am willing to bet that production numbers for 2021 will be lower for a few reasons. I don't see a lot of LR trucks available

Toyota.com shopping tool shows 60 or so LR CMs due to be built in next 30 days.

    2 DCs from memory

As to "total" production vs any other year - I have no idea. But there are unsold LRs out there - getting the allocation and how close from home they can be delivered are the big ?s.

Once a vehicle is "sold" - it shouldn't be appearing in the shopping tool.

Shopping tool is for non allocated builds I thought - again, 60 over the entire US and Canada is not a big number...but its also bigger than 0.

Just as an FYI - a local dealer just posted 5 TRD Pro including a LR to their coming soon inventory sheet - means they have been given the allocation promise, but no VINs for built vehicles or delivery date yet.

That's how I felt about mine until I had a small accident. Now knowing what happened I don't like it as much. I'm waiting to see if my insurance is going to report the accident. If they do, I might sell mine. It's not practical at all but it really bothers me.

That must of been the one I was looking at unless they had two.

My wife's 2017 Forester got in a wreck when we'd only had it about 4 months - my daughter was learning to drive (wife was with her in the passenger seat) and someone pulled out in front of her making a left turn. Final repair bill was almost $18k - they basically had to rebuild the front end (but no frame damage and no engine/drivetrain damage). At first, we felt the same way - didn't want to hold onto it. But we pushed for diminished value claim, used that to pay down what we owed (which wasn't a lot to start with), and had lifetime warranty on all of the work done to the car. When we got it back, you couldn't tell it had ever been in an accident, and three years later it's still just like when we bought it. We've gotten past it, have a reliable vehicle that is 100% paid off, and have no reason for another car payment for her for another 7 or so years.

May I ask where you see this information? I have placed an allocation deposit out of state and am anxiously awaiting to hear of a VIN or build date to be given.

wtf, he's selling it already? I can't fathom how quickly he switch cars, when I first saw his channel, it was the AG Tundra and 4runner, then I saw the FJ, Raptor, Ram 2500, LandCruiser, now this Tundra, and he has a Tacoma TRD Pro as well, and I only saw his channel since like last Spring.

Got this today, going to see what kinda ET the truck is hitting now, then run another one after the 5.29

This is accurate. My dealership is not taking any more orders for tundras. They have no allocations left, not even for a single tundra for the rest of the year.
