They’d probably rather not overcharge you for something you don’t need. I find that to be very respectable.

Honedtly I thought the 4600s were pretty dang good. They come stock with the off road package.

Can you elaborate on your experience? Did you have any additional mods on your truck that would have had an impact on the ride quality aside from the suspension? What type of driving did you do? On-road? Off-road? What made them good for you?

I drove on pavement and gravel roads. My truck came with the 4600s from the factory, and I spent the first few thousand miles on that stock setup. They soaked up potholes pretty well. If I stuck to pavement or gravel roads and forest service roads, they would’ve been great. But I wanted a bit of a lift and bigger tires for clearance off-road.

The TRD Fox kit is a lot better for my needs, but if I wanted to keep stock height, I would’ve stuck with the 4600s no problem.

Same. I live down a gravel road (and it's not a nice soft country gravel road either - it has anywhere from nice flat surfaces to 1' deep ruts due to rain/flooding, crappy local support for grading roads, etc.) and have the same stock setup. So long as you plan on keeping it stock height, I wouldn't have any issues buying them; they ride great (and better than most other trucks, save a Ram 1500), aren't jittery at all, etc. FAR better than the 2013 F150 I owned previously was; that 'jittered' so much it about drove me insane. The ONLY way I'll ever replace the stock setup is if I either lift/level the truck, or have any issues with them in the future.
