Hello all. As the title stated, I’m looking to get back into a tundra. Little back story. I had a mgm 2017 crewmax that I loved. After owning it for 4 months or so a teenager rear ended me and bent the frame. Totaling it. I went the Tacoma route after that and instantly regretted it. Tacoma is a great truck but I’m 6’3” 275. Not the truck for me.

So now I’m back on the hunt for a tundra. Any advice on what to avoid/ look for? I’m wanting to find either a Cement or MGM (preferably a cement) crewmax, 2018+. Certified. 4x4. Under 40k miles.

No helpful advice beyond the obvious (auto mags, auto sites, etc.) but welcome back!

A certified 2018+ CM 4 x 4 will cost almost as much as a new one. Just a thought.

This. My '20 CM 4x4 was within maybe $2K of a somewhat decently used one.

Ended up just buying new. They have a 2021 CM cement 4x4 sr5 coming in about 30 days. Exactly what I wanted. Plain wheels (I’ll change them anyways). Super pumped and so glad to be back in a tundra. I put my deposit down yesterday.

Also I got it for about $500 more than a comparable certified used tundra.

Thank you, my first new vehicle. It’s so nice not to worry about the history and what if’s of buying used.

IMHO when it comes to buying trucks in general, I will always purchase new. In the past I have been burned by many domestic and Toyota trucks because of bad history. I prefer to wait years to save (or cut the budget in other areas) than to buy used. Simply because of history...I see many 1/2 tons blowing by me, well over 70 mph, on the highways with trailers and I always think to myself “I sure as hell wouldn’t want to buy that truck”. The piece of mind is always worth it and I couldn’t agree with you more.

Our local dealer is bumping the sticker price for the cement color.
    Cool color, no doubt.
