I was wondering if someone ever had the same problem I'm experiencing. I installed a 6in rough country lift and everything went pretty smooth with the install. Alignment went great. When driving down the road between 10 to 25 miles per hour I can hear a humming noise. The sound does not go away in 4 wheel drive. Sound like it may be coming from front end. Really hard to tell. I do have a carrier bearing drop on it. 3/4 inch.

Is it the tires? Road noise? Some AT ties make that noise, maybe someone else chime in with better answer, nice wheels BTW, what are they?

Does the "humming" get louder with more speed?

I contacted rough county and asked me a few question about the blocks in the back are installed correctly and if i installed a carrier bearing drop. both yes. They said it because the struts are not settle yet i would need between 100 to 300 miles before they break in for the humming to go away

Hmmm... haven't heard of that before. I have the 6" Pro Comp kit and the only humming that I heard was from the tires. And, currently, I am running Rough Country N3 coilovers in the front. Is that what your kit came with, or the Vertex coilovers?

Never heard of coil overs humming. However, just did a google search and it has been reported quite a lot on many types of vehicles.

So bacially he explained that the coilover is stiff and is appling alot of pressure on the axles. I think I'm going to go down to a 4in instead of 6. I called and they said all I needed was new coilovers and back rear blocks. Now when we were installing the 6in it was a bit of a task to get them installed.

    Update:
Went to a local repair shop with good rating. That repair shop says they do hear the humming and pulled a sample from rear differential. Showed me the sample of oil and it seems it has some metal particles in it but said nothing sounds like it destroyed in differtial. Said I should be concerned about metal in oil. Next day I dropped off the truck at the dealership. Said the oil looks good and even ran a magnet and nothing shows out of norm. Ran the truck on a lift. They did say the humming noise is between 15 and 25 but it's from the bigger tires in combination of my bam mufflers sound vibrating into the truck.
