I prefer Old Grandad 100 or Old Forrester 100. Good value and they have a nice long lasting burn.

Thanks for the secret tip. I knew about the state controlling price mark ups but not about the inventory thing.

Have this squirreled away for a special occasion. Plus, every time I look it up the price of a bottle seems to go up, so I am reluctant to open it.20210310_155833.jpg

I feel your angst. But I don't live life by "what if". Instant gratification is a plague.

Thats a tough call as all of the above mentioned drinks are superb.
I do cigars and have a wonderfull collection so wiskey is a staple.
The one that goes superbly all the time with my cigars is Hibiki of Japan.
These guys know how to make wiskey. They can't call it bourbon due to American laws but is superb.
They're water over there has virtually no iron at all in it and that's what makes bourbons from Kentucky good.
If you get a chance to try some, do it as you will really like it.

BTW, in my collection I have the #1 (CA chosen) cigar in boxes for years 2020 thru 2014.
    Total number of boxes 40.
I use Igloo coolers for my humidors and they work superbly.
My brother collects Cubans, getting them from Austraila.

I use water beads that I buy in bulk packs on Amazon.
I then buy a few of the slotted / screened rectangular moisture containers that have that green crap in them, remove the green and replace with beads.
I'll get more than 40 days before I see any change in humidity with my sweet spot being 68 percent.
Some brands like 70 percent but my Padrons get happy at 68.
The coolers are perfect for this application. They don't absorb moisture like wood.
They control temp real nice and the worst case scenario if for you to crack the lid open with a coin between halves to control any upward moisture movement.
I also use wifi moisture readers in the coolers. They're inexpensive for a few of them and I can check humidity and temp from my phone anywhere I am.
    I call em "Coolidors"..

I'm also getting more involved with Rye Whiskey.
Once a maligned whiskey is now coming back with incredibly good variations.
If you like spice in your stogies mate em up with some good Rye Whiskies.
